Amazing! That is the only word that really describes the picture and quality this TV has shown since purchasing. I've had this TV for around 8 months now and I only get more impressed with it as the time passes. Not so super technical review to follow. Backstory on purchasing TV: I've been doing enterprise IT in some form or another for the last 25+ years and had been planning on buying an OLED TV to replace my current TV at the time as a treat to myself for completing a major project at work I was heading. One of those "I work hard so I should be able to enjoy some fruits of those labors" situations. I scoured the interwebs researching, pricing, and comparing all the TVs I could within the criteria I wanted to stay in. I didn't want it to be overwhelmingly huge or carry a $5k+ price tag which counted out most anything 83" or bigger. Probably a blessing in disguise as I've found that 75"-80" is about perfect for the space this TV would be calling home in my basement "man cave". My TV at the time in the cave was a 75" Hisense that filled the screen size void and was great for watching sports or everyday programming but it lacked the quality and refinement I was used to from a Sony Bravia or a Sharp AQUOS from back in the day (relatively speaking) like the 60" AQUOS I bought from Best Buy fifteen years ago that is still running strong in my living room to this day. This was especially apparent when watching movies that pandered to high definition scenes like Star Wars/Star Trek or darker scenes in shows or movies where the blooming effect of budget LED backlighting overwhelmed the scene that left my wife and I almost making up what we were seeing on the screen. Time since purchase: During the 8 months I've had this TV I have been nothing but impressed with the picture quality. It is crisp, the motion flow on panning scenes are absolutely perfect, and I do not regret one bit going with an OLED over the mini LED during dark scenes. Zero and I mean ZERO blooming effect on this TV. There are times I am questioning whether the TV is even on when there is a long dark transition between movie scenes. My wife, who does not care about picture quality most of the time, even says "Wow that is a really sharp picture!" when we are watching movies now. Even months past getting this TV I cannot express enough how much I enjoy sitting down and watching even the most basic show or movie on it. I've found myself rewatching movies I haven't watch in years, such as the original Blade Runner, and appreciating all over again the detail and care that went into making the movie immersive and life like. To add to the flavor this Bravia 8 is very vendor diverse friendly. Since buying this TV I purchased a Pioneer Elite VSX-LX505 AV receiver to replace my old Yamaha Aventage 4K AV receiver and was once again overly impressed with the jump in picture quality this Bravia 8 presented. I didn't appreciate at the time when I first got the TV how much of a bottleneck my old receiver was placing on the video quality this TV was capable of. It was like turning in on for the first time again. While I do use the Google TV features from time to time I generally run most of my media viewing through a Roku Ultra (2025 model). This TV plays ball with the Roku really well. Even with everything running through my AV receiver all devices work together harmoniously through eARC and I only have to use the one Roku remote to run it all. Power, volume, etc... It is a testament to manufactures making available what the bulk of consumers really want in regard to versatility vs pigeonholing people into their narrow visioned ecosystem. Would all of this have been a seamless set up if I had the equivalent Sony receiver and so on? Sure. I don't think anyone could debate that but I thank Sony a thousand times over for remembering that there are other products out there that a person may have invested their hard earned money on and want it to work with all their other devices at least on the functionality level. There you have it. Hope it helps.

The 77 inch Sony Bravia 8 OLED is easiest the best TV I have ever owned. This tv being an OLED means you get true inky blacks. But what really stood out to me were the colors! The moment I loaded up a movie I instantly noticed how deep and rich the colors pop out at you. And I am not talking over saturated colors. Sony also has the best motion processing and upscaling in the business. This tv really helps those old blu ray disc or even DVDs look even better than you remember. What I do find a little lackluster is the lack of HDMI 2.1 ports. Yes this tv does have HDMI 2.1 ports but only 2. Other brands such as LG and Samsung offer 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. Aside from that, I highly recommend this TV. Movie nights are spectacular. Gaming on this TV has been mind blowing. 5/5 stars!

This Sony OLED has completely transformed the way I watch movies, sports, and play games. The picture quality is outstanding — deep blacks, vibrant colors, and incredibly sharp detail even in fast-moving scenes. Dolby Vision and HDR really pop, and paired with my sound system it feels like a theater at home. Gaming on this TV is amazing too. The low input lag and 120Hz refresh rate make everything buttery smooth, and the PS5 looks unreal on it. Setup was simple, the Google TV interface is easy to navigate, and it integrates seamlessly with my smart home devices. Overall, this is hands-down one of the best investments I’ve made for home entertainment.
