So far I love this monitor. The packaging, fit, finish and materials are excellent, and the tilt/height stand is so well engineered. The colors just pop, even though the LCD panel is technically older tech. What makes it special is everything under the hood — the new A19 chip, USB ports, and two Thunderbolt 5 ports for daisy chaining make it a genuinely great hub. Setup was effortless too. Simple plug and play on my Mac, no fussing around. I'm upgrading from an LG 5K2K, which was "fine," but the sleep function was always a little finicky. With this, it just works every single time. The other thing I appreciate is having the webcam built in and working. I was using a separate 6 year old Logitech webcam that started glitching out, so having everything in one clean package is a win. Reviewers will say the webcam isn't the best on the market, but if you're jumping on Zoom calls for work, it gets the job done, it looks fine to me with zero complaints from me personally. I think the only thing I wasn't impressed with are the speakers when playing music. I guess with the YouTube reviews and the product announcement, they touched on the slightly improved 6 speaker system. Again, I'm sure it's better than most standard monitors built-in speakers (better than my LG 5K2K), but again, fine for work zooms and videos. Not that I blast music either but testing out some music, I wasn't impressed. Highly recommend if you're in the Apple ecosystem and want a display that looks great, performs great, and just works. 5 stars from me, I'd love to add another to daisy chain.

Stunning display, but caused migraines and usability issues for me. I wanted to love this display, but I ultimately had to return it. Important (if you’re sensitive to screens) Within a relatively short period of use, I experienced: Head pressure, eye strain, facial pain that mimicked a sinus infection Severe dizziness and “motion sickness” type feeling after extended (a few hour) use Headaches that worsened with longer sessions If you have any history of migraines, visual sensitivity, or screen-related discomfort, I would strongly recommend testing this in person or ensuring you have a solid return window before committing. Likely migraine triggers (vs. my MacBook) Mini-LED backlighting (XDR) vs. standard IPS LCD → Different brightness modulation and contrast behavior that can feel more intense to the eyes Higher peak brightness + HDR processing → Much brighter highlights and dynamic contrast shifts compared to a laptop screen ProMotion / variable refresh rate (up to 120Hz) → Constant micro-adjustments in motion/refresh that can feel like subtle instability Larger screen + external display scaling (27" vs. 13") → Greater visual field + different pixel scaling can increase eye strain and “motion” perception More aggressive display processing (color, dithering, tone mapping) → The image is more “processed,” which can trigger discomfort in sensitive users Pros: *Incredible visual quality: The 5K XDR display is extremely sharp with excellent brightness and contrast. Text looks crisp, and visuals are very immersive. *ProMotion (120Hz): Scrolling and motion feel smooth and fluid. *Color and brightness: Very vibrant with strong HDR capability—great for media and visual work. *Premium build: The adjustable stand is well-designed and makes positioning easy and stable. *All-in-one setup: High-quality speakers and clean integration with macOS. Cons: *Migraine/eye strain risk (major for me) *Camera inconsistency (especially on older macOS): The built-in camera (Zoom in particular) would intermittently drop in and out or fail to be recognized clearly, which disrupted calls. *Very expensive: For the price, this is a significant investment—and if it doesn’t work for your eyes, it’s a tough loss without a good return policy. *Potential overkill for general use: While the display is beautiful, it may be more than needed for typical productivity tasks. Overall: This is a technically impressive, high-end display, and I can see it being a great fit for users who prioritize visual quality and professional-level specs. However, for me, the migraine symptoms were a dealbreaker, and the camera inconsistency on Zoom (especially with older macOS versions) added to the frustration. If you’re considering this display, I would highly recommend: *Testing it in person if possible *Making sure you have an extended return window *Paying close attention to how your eyes and head feel after longer use sessions
