    Lightweight Gaming Workhorse

I had a few weeks to play with the laptop and overall it's a nice laptop with some nice features. I would definitely recommend it for those looking for a workhorse that can also stream and handle some serious gaming. Setup: The setup was pretty simple and typical of most laptops now. I did not have any issues connecting it to my Wi-Fi or setting up my desktop layout. Everything loaded up the way it should, and I was able to get it ready without any problems. I mainly purchased this laptop for entertainment and gaming. I wanted something that could stream well and also play games without stuttering, freezing, or tearing. Build: The build quality is one of the first things I noticed. It feels solid and does not feel cheap. The screen does not have flex to it and the hinge is very smooth. Some laptop hinges feel like you are trying to crack open a clam, but this one opens smoothly and feels right. The laptop is also very lightweight, which I really like. It makes it easier to carry when traveling and makes gaming or streaming on the fly more enjoyable. I have owned GIGABYTE laptops before and had good experiences with them, so I already trusted the brand going in. Screen: The screen is one of the best parts of the laptop. The refresh rate is very smooth and I think this is becoming the new normal for gaming laptops. I did not experience motion blur when streaming sports, and I did not notice tearing while gaming or during open world play. The 16-inch screen is also a good size because it gives you enough room to enjoy games, movies, and regular work without making the laptop feel too large. Gaming: The gaming experience has been very smooth. I played Call of Duty and sports games, and I did not experience tearing, stuttering, or skipping. The RTX 5060 does a good job and gives the laptop enough power for the type of gaming I do. I was looking for something good that would not break the bank, and this laptop does a good job with that. It is not the highest end gaming laptop out there, but for a lightweight laptop, it performs very well. Fan Noise / Heat: The main issue I have to mention is the fan noise. The fan does kick in when gaming and it can get pretty loud. It does not bother me much because I usually game with headphones or with a speaker attached, but the loudness is definitely there. The bottom of the laptop also heats up after extended play. You can definitely feel it if you have it resting on your lap. It is not a major issue if you are using it on a desk or with a laptop stand, but I would not recommend long gaming sessions with it sitting directly on your lap. Keyboard: The keyboard feels pretty smooth and has the right amount of travel. The keyboard layout is typical, so there was not much to get used to. The typing sound is actually nice and the keys feel comfortable. The backlighting is also a good feature because I like gaming in a darker setting, and the lighting helps a lot. Battery: The battery life was one of the better surprises for me. I gamed heavily during a six-hour trip and the laptop survived. Obviously, that is not going to match the advertised maximum battery life because gaming uses way more battery, especially with Wi-Fi on and the laptop set to performance mode. But considering how I was using it, I was impressed. For a gaming laptop this thin and light, the battery did better than I expected. AI / Copilot Features: I have not really used the AI or Copilot features much. I have not really gone deep into the AI features because I am a little old school and like making my own changes to the settings. For me, the AI features are not really a selling point. They may be useful for some people, but I would not buy the laptop just for that. Ports: The ports are decent and it has the basic inputs most people will need. The one thing I wish it had, is a microSD card reader. I know you can buy an adapter and use USB-C, but I prefer the ease and speed of just inserting a microSD card directly into the laptop. I wish companies would stop phasing that feature out because it is still useful. Sound: I have not tested the built-in speakers much because I normally use my own speakers or headphones. At this weight and size, I doubt the speakers are powerful enough for my gaming needs anyway. That is not a major issue for me, but it is something to consider if you rely on laptop speakers. Overall: Overall, I truly enjoyed this laptop and would recommend it for the hybrid gamer, student, or office worker who wants one laptop that can do both. It streams well, games smoothly, feels solid, and is light enough to travel with. The screen refresh rate, graphics performance, and battery life are the biggest positives for me. The fan noise and heat are noticeable when gaming, but that is expected with a lightweight laptop. I do wish it came with 32GB of RAM because I think 32GB should be more standard by now, but that is an easy fix. For someone looking for a lightweight laptop with good gaming and entertainment performance at a competitive price, this is a very good option.

    Respectable performant Copilot+ Gaming Laptop

Overall, the Gigabyte Aero X16 is a decent Gaming CoPilot+ Laptop. It has a big enough screen with great refresh rate and resolution, boasting an RTX 5060 graphics card, one of the latest video cards out there, ideal for gaming and video editing tasks. RAM comes at 16GB, which IMHO seems a little low for this machine. A 1TB storage capacity gives you some room to download your games and keep media files. It has plenty of ports/connections for your wired peripherals. The laptop looks stylish, and well, that is a selling point for it. Perhaps the only aspect I don’t like too much is the keyboard, which feels a little rubber-like, and I’d have preferred to have something more of a mechanical feeling. I’ve been using this laptop mainly to play my favorite video games and to stream content. So far, I have no major complaints, only a couple of nuances. There are several aspects that could be discussed regarding this device, also, there are plenty of other tests that could have been performed on it, I am just going to discuss a few of those aspects. >> Graphics This Gigabyte Aero x16 comes with an RTX 5060 video card suitable for gaming and other tasks needing a high-end video card (it is not the more performant RTX 5060 Ti, take notice). It also has an AMD Radeon 780M Graphics for the least demanding tasks. The max refresh rate is set to be 165Hz; however, I connected an external monitor through HDMI and I was able to report 240Hz for that external monitor (have yet to reach that refresh rate for the games I’ve been playing though). >> Gaming My favorite game is Forza, and it took quite a while to load the game the first time (after of course the time invested in setting up the Xbox App and downloading the game to the laptop). After the game loaded, while it was about to start, I was greeted with a “driver non-compatible” error, which was a little surprising since this was supposed to be a newer machine. At first, I dismissed the dialog and proceeded to play, but later decided to do the driver update which is available through the Nvidia App. I wish Windows Update could somehow detect these updates, so that we had a single place where to look or be notified about updates for the “basic” components of the machine. I played games using the keyboard and also using a Bluetooth Xbox controller, and I was surprised how responsive the Bluetooth Xbox controller was. Comparing it roughly to another gaming laptop I have (a Ti version of the graphics card with 32 GB of memory), this one takes longer loading and optimizing the games. >> Performance There are three operating modes for this machine, available from within the GiMATE App that comes preinstalled, that adjust some CPU/GPU settings to optimize the machine for the specific task in hand: - Silent mode - Balance mode - Performance mode “Silent” mode is the least performant and “Performance” mode is the most resource demanding mode. The different modes seem to restrict the CPU and GPU to some extent. For “Silent” mode, as its name suggests, the laptop doesn’t emit any noticeable noise, and when choosing “Performance”, the fan just goes crazy. The latter is what I’d say is a flaw, in that the machine gets hot too fast when gaming. Sometimes this gets in the way of enjoying the game, so a good advice is to use headphones for a better gaming experience. >> Benchmark The only benchmark measurement I performed was with 3DMark. For the one gaming/graphics test I run, the Steel Nomad test, it threw a number a little lower than the average for a system like this. I assume if I had the Ti version, things would have been much better. It is no surprise that the results were different when running the tests in “Silent mode” and “Performance mode”. The results under “Performance mode” were closer to the average for systems like this one. See the pictures where you’ll find the results under “Silent mode” and “Performance mode”. >> Copilot+ It is a Co-pilot+ PC because it boasts an NPU. This NPU comes in handy if you have need to perform or have some applications that need those processing units. I exercised the NPU a little using the camera effects, but nothing beyond that.

Great Gaming Laptop great for everyday life

Gaming laptops have definitely come along way , even in just the last couple of years. Gone are the super chunky bricks that you would get. So let me start I think this is one of the better looking laptop designs period I have seen in a while. The laptop is solid without being cumbersome or too heavy. The screen while only being IPS is great looking and get pretty bright with the high refresh rate it is also very smooth. Now getting to the actual performance, everything I threw it ran very well and I was actually surprised at how decent the built in graphics ran certain games. Note to anyone getting you have to run gigabytes software and turn on the gpu switch if not it will not turn on your dedicated gpu. And while I could play games I was surprised at first how held back it was once I made the switch activated I was off to the races. Being thinner the laptop does get hot pretty quickly and while you don’t really feel the heat if you pick it up you can definitely feel it. If you have a good way to cool it does cool down pretty quick. But I was so happy overall with the performance. I love this laptop it’s great for work or gaming , has good battery life and when you want to crank it up it gives you great performance highly recommend

    Well color me impressed!

I am very pleasantly surprised by how much I like the Gigabyte Aero X16 Copilot+ PC. It's 165Hz 2560x1600 WQXGA display is fantastic and provides a wonderful experience whether you're performing productivity tasks, browsing the web, watching movies, or even doing some gaming. Speaking of gaming, this machine might not be the most performant gamer on the block, but it more than gets the job done. I have 0 complaints when gaming at 1440p at medium quality settings. The RTX 5060 and AMD Ryzen 7 260 hold their own very well. If I'm nitpicking, I could say I'd rather have the Ryzen AI 9 465 instead since the CPU is more of a bottleneck than the GPU, but honestly, I didn't much care. I am perfectly happy with what I have. Storage-wise you're looking at a 1TB Kingston 2280 Nvme PCIE Gen4 SSD. Along with that you're also getting a single 16GB SODIMM of Crucial DDR5-5600 CL46 RAM. Once again, if I'm nitpicking, I'd bemoan the single SODIMM and the benefits of dual-channel I'm missing out on. But honestly, in 2026 having a machine with actual SODIMM slots that allow you to add or swap RAM however you want is such a rarity! With memory prices the way they are right now, I'll be sticking with the single 16GB module, but when prices drop (if they ever do) I'll probably upgrade to 32GB. Next I'll comment a bit on build quality. In short, it's excellent. My daily driver is a 2021 16" Macbook Pro. I'm used to superior build quality and a machine that is, at least in part, a work of art. Despite the use of plastics in places where a Mac would have metal or glass, I find that I don't mind it one bit. To be honest, I really had to examine the machine closely to figure out that it was plastic at all. It's so sturdy that at first I thought it was all metal on top. There are two things that I don't consider nitpicking and definitely have a gripes about. It's 2026 Gigabyte! Where's the second USB-C port instead of a barrel plug for charging. Sure, the included USB-C port can be used to charge the machine, but personally, I plan on having that occupied by a USB-C to DisplayPort cable connected to my external monitor nearly any time I'm at my desk. Lastly, this is a mixed use machine intended for both productivity and some gaming. Where's the SD Card slot? There's more than enough room on either side of the machine to have included one. Even Apple, who is notorious for which forms of IO they're willing to provide, have nice full-size SD Card slots on their laptops. All that said, I really do love this machine both aesthetically and for the flexibility it offers. It's a solid buy in my book.

    Nice machine

Cool packing, comes with the laptop all wrapped up and protected, the charger and some sweet decals. The Gigabyte Aero X16 with Copilot+ is real nice out of the box, but loves fingerprints.. The fit and finish is nice and of quality. The bottom, rear and rear side of the case are vented for cooling. There quite a few ports, as pictured, only one usb-c port though, which is odd. The case is also very slim and not overly heavy. The 165hz screen is beautiful, zero complaints there. The audio is nice but not overwhelming which is common for laptops, but hey that's what the phono jack is for! It says it has dolby atmos, but I only here speakers in the top and bottom, so not sure how they do that with the limited space. There is a simple power button but no fingerprint reader which is a bummer. But windows makes quick work of the face recognition. The d pad is oversized and functions well. The rgb keyboard is well lit but you can't change colors independently, it's all or none. On balanced mode it ran great and the fans were slightly noticeable, I wouldn't want them any louder though. It didn't flinch with anything I threw at it, the Nvidia GeForce is a beast. Only thing I will change is adding another stick of 16gb of ram. Other than that I'm very pleased with it.
