Colossus sized machine inside and out.

This is a great machine and once you get past the massive size of the case, you will appreciate it. This machine is liquid cooled and has 6 fans to keep the system operating even at extreme stress. After 30 minutes of a stress test, the GPU was pushing 293 fps @ 100% GPU usage and the temperature only reached 70°C and the VRAM temperature was only 56°C. I was surprised that the fans kept it cool and never heard an audible fan noise. Intel 20-Core Ultra 7 265KF : Architecture: 20 Cores (8 P-Cores + 12 E-Cores) / 20 Threads; Clock Speeds: Up to 5.5 GHz Max Turbo. Fully unlocked for overclocking. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070: Built on the Blackwell architecture, the 5070 features 12GB of GDDR7 video memory. It supports DLSS 4.5 and advanced neural rendering to maximize frame rates while meeting demanding graphical requirements. Conclusion: The wire management and inside of the case is very clean and organized, you only see what you want to see, lights, lights and more lights. With a system that includes a 20-core Intel Ultra 7 265KF CPU and has the GeForce RTX 5070 with 32GB DDR5, it can take on the most demanding games.

    Great gaming rig!

As the title mentions, this is a great gaming rig. With an Intel Core 7 Ultra and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM, it’s ready to run pretty much all the games out there. Mine also came with a Gigabyte video card, which a highly reputable brand. With 1TB of storage, it can hold plenty of games, files, and applications. It also came with a high speed SSD for quick read and write times. The PC also just looks fantastic. It is a high quality build and you can feel it in the weight. The tempered glass on the left side is also really solid and gives you an unblocked view on the inside of the case. It’s also angled in the front for a really good great view. The fans are also well placed and provide more than adequate cooling, even during long gaming sessions. Overall, it looks just as good or better than most custom builds out there. It also has magnetic screens on both the top and bottom to make keeping clean and free of dust really easy. All six fans light up as does an LED bar on the power supply. Overall, it looks great, runs, great, and and it made really, really well. I highly recommend this PC!

Excellent machine at a great price

I've built computers for most of my life, it's rare that I find one I care enough about that's pre-built that hasn't cut the corner in some way, but I appreciate the few times I've been proven wrong. Acer isn't always known as the highest end of machines, but I have to say this is a very well built machine. Packaging: To start, it's packaged well, thick foam in a double walled cardboard box, comes with a mouse and keyboard and some minor documentation, nothing to write home about here. Use: It's a quick machine, it may not be the highest of high ends, but it's definitely on the upper end of gaming machines. With the 5070 and the Intel Core Ultra 7, it's right there in that high-end gaming bracket, and for the price, they set it there quite nicely and within reach. Something I appreciate that most people wont notice is that this uses quality name brand components. The motherboard is made by Gigabyte, the RAM is Kingston Fury, the graphics card is Gigabyte, I havent removed the shroud from the power supply but it uses standard pinouts. As for the performance, it's excellent, with a high end processor and high end graphics card, there's nothing you need to do to play games at maximum settings. When loading up fortnite, minecraft, BeamNG, Roblox, and any other game you can imagine, it also detects at the highest settings and everything runs smooth. With the 5070 it's also capable of GSYNC which my monitor can do to allow for frame sync to eliminate tearing. I don't "love" the keyboard, but the lighting effects when you type are kinda neat, but to me the key form factor is a little odd. But you dont buy a computer for the keyboard so it's not worth taking off any points. For the price and performance i basically couldn't build this any cheaper, especially with RAM prices the way they are today. Overall: Well worth the money, brand name parts, great performance, nice looking case and color scheme. Definitely worth your time.

    Cool, Quiet, and Powerful

The Acer Predator Orion is a step up into the big leagues of Gaming PC desktops . The specs were as impressive as the well designed RGB accents ranging from the fans, to the CPU, to the Memory, and the inside of the case. I was curious to see how it would handle gaming on my 1440p monitor in terms of performance and cooling and it didn't disappoint. Across a range of games and benchmarks it stayed cool and quiet. Here's the whole experience from unboxing to performance. - Unboxing - The box is big and the packing is well padded so the machine shows up with proper protection. Inside is the gaming desktop, power cord, Wi-Fi antenna, and documentation. There's no assembly, it's a complete system ready to plug in. Acer also includes a wired keyboard and a mouse, and they're much better than the throwaway peripherals you usually expect bundled with a desktop. Both keyboard and mouse have RGB. The full 10-key wired keyboard is comfortable to type on, and has good travel. It's membrane, not mechanical, but it comfortable. The wired mouse has the 2 extra buttons on the side we need for gaming, and the middle button and scroll wheel. - Design & Build - This a good sized tower and the size definitely has its advantages in regards to cooling. The front of the unit has a removable mesh panel with 3 RGB fans behind it and the Predator badge at the bottom. The left side is tempered glass so you get a good view of the internals. There's accent lighting everywhere without being too loud. The Predator logo glows on the CPU block, the memory has RGB, the three front fans carry RGB accents, there's a strip across the bottom of the case, and even the Predator logo on the back panel has accents worked into it. The CPU runs on a closed loop liquid cooler with a top-mounted radiator and dual fans, with a rear exhaust fan helping to pump out any heat. This unit is easy to maintain and service. The front panel comes off, the tempered glass panel snaps on/off easily, there's a magnetic dust screen on top, and a dust tray at the bottom that can be removed for cleaning. On the back of the tower, there's a mix of old/new connections to support a variety of devices. There are a couple of USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 combo port, two USB 3.2 ports, a 2.5G Ethernet on a red jack, a connection for your Wi-Fi antenna, Line in, Line out, and mic jacks. The RTX 5070 handles video with three DisplayPorts and HDMI port. - Specs & Features - CPU - The Processor is an Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF with 20 cores (8 performance and 12 efficiency), up to 5.5 GHz and 125 Watts. The performance cores handle the games while the efficiency cores handle the background work. There are no integrated graphics and all the video runs through the GPU. I actually prefer this because on a desktop I want full graphics power. GPU - The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 with 12 GB of GDDR7 handles the gaming. In my opinion, this is the highlight of the system. It can handle AI, Gaming, or any type of Content creation you throw at it. I believe the sweet spot is 1440p but it can handle anything including 4K gaming. Memory - There's 32GB DDR5-6000. 32GB is plenty for gaming and multitasking. Make sure XMP is enabled to get the full power. Storage - There's a 1TB NVME SSD. This is adequate space, but you will likely add more once you start downloading your game library. Fortunately, there's another M.2 slot for expansion. There are also SATA cables tucked away neatly if you want to add a HDD or SSD. Connectivity includes the latest technology, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 to give you fast wireless networking and a solid Bluetooth connection for peripherals. What I like about Wi-Fi 7 is the 6 GHz channel. Operating System - It comes with Windows 11 Home NPU - This is a dedicated chip for AI tasks. The Intel NPU that will offload work from the CPU and GPU. Cooling/Airflow - Cooling is very well done. There's a closed-loop liquid cooler with a top-mounted radiator and dual fans. Moving heat straight to the radiator is a big reason the CPU stays cool and the system stays quiet under load. There are 3 intake fans and a rear exhaust fan. This setup helps pull in cool air and push warm air out. For a desktop, I found the Acer Predator Orion very cool and quiet, even sitting right next to me. You will forget it's even there sometimes. Display Outputs - You can setup multiple monitors with the RTX 5070. There are three display ports and one HDMI. - Performance - I couldn't wait to test the Acer Predator Orion and see what it could do. I started by playing Hades 2, and it stayed pinned at my monitor's 180fps cap while the GPU sat around 45 to 50 C, and the CPU ran cool at 40 to 43 C, hardly breaking a sweat. The next game I tried out was Wuchang Fallen Feathers and this hit the hardware a little harder averaging 125 fps with the GPU at 65C and the CPU at 60C. Lastly I loaded up Crew Motor fest and it ran the GPU at 53C and the CPU at 48C. The theme was it could handle everything with ease, and the temps stayed low. *Benchmarks This machine absolutely dominated the benchmarks. It's more than capable for AI and high performance gaming with high framerates. It's impressive how cool and quiet it is, even under stress. Time Spy: 21,229 (Graphics 22513, CPU 16044) Time Spy Extreme: 10,909 (Graphics 10768, CPU 11785) Speedway: 5,979 Steel Nomad: 5,297 Port Royal: 14,479 (Graphics test 67 FPS) A few old school Benchmarks Fire Strike: 43,887 (graphics 56,670, physics 45,827, combined 15,929) I've never seen a score this high on any of my past gaming computers. Fire Strike Extreme: 28,282 (graphics 29195, physics 46,325, combined 8,038) Geekbench 6 CPU: 3,159 single-core, 20959 multi-core GPU: (OpenCL): 195,497 Cinebench 2026 CPU:535 single-thread, 6,949 multi-thread GPU: 75,017 SSD Storage CrystalDiskMark 5,878 Read, 4,942 MB/s write sequential - Upgrades & Expansion - There are four DIMM slots, two are filled with 16GB modules, this leaves two slots open for adding more RAM down the line. This board has two M.2 slots, one running at PCIe 5.0 and one at PCIe 4.0. This leaves one slot for another SSD. There are also additional SATA cables if you want to add additional drive space. - Pros/Cons - *Pros* * Runs cool across the board, CPU is especially cool thanks to liquid cooling * Quiet with gentle fan ramp * Strong 1440p gaming performance * RGB is everywhere but tasteful, and tinted glass gives it a clean look * Easy to clean with removable panels, filters, trays * WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2.5G Ethernet * Bundled keyboard and Mouse are quality * Room to expand *Suggestions/Needs Improvement* * Must be careful with tempered glass * Small Motherboard * I would like to see a couple more USB-C slots The Acer Predator Orion is an easy machine to recommend to someone who wants cool, quiet performance. It handles gaming with ease, stays cool, and barely makes a sound while doing it. The design is aesthetically sharp and well engineered. I would recommend this machine to anyone for gaming, AI, content creation, and productivity.

For a prebuilt, I can't stop saying great things!

The Acer Predator is an amazing gaming PC. They have really stepped up their game when it comes to using actual interchangeable components instead of using proprietary parts. Last Predator I owned was from 3 years ago (wasn't pretty) and I cannot stop being wow'd at what's offered. I have been building personal rigs since the 90s so I tend to judge prebuilts pretty harshly. The PC itself is well protected in the massive box it comes in. Super large and thick foam protected this beast from it's trip from CA to TX. Inside also was everything else you needed to get started (except a monitor), quick start guide, a to-do checklist, box with a keyboard, mouse, power cord and wifi-antenna. The panels on the PC itself comes right off the same way on both sides. Literally just snaps off the chassis. I found it funny the guide tells you to open the case and remove all the packing materials inside but there wasn't any at all lol. Though you will want to remove the plastic film from the AIO screen. Build Quality ----------------------------------------- Beyond great. From the looks to the parts included, I would easily give it a 11/10. Super clean look with great cable management and plenty of airflow. Taking off the panels reveals the parts used. Gigabyte B860 M C Motherboard Intel Ultra 7 265KF CPU 2x 16GB DDR5 6000 Kingston Fury RAM (in the correct slots!) Lexar NQ7A1 1TB NVMe (up to 6000MBs read and 5000MBs write) PCIe 4.0 Gigabyte RTX 5070 PCIe 5.0 x16 1x120 exhaust fan 1xTriple 120mm front intake fans 240mm AIO liquid CPU cooler What you can't see: High Power (yes, that is the brand name) 850w 80 Plus Gold PSU. Not really high end, but still a very popular and reliable brand of OEM PSUs for prebuilts. Non modular by the way. The rats nest of cables with all the extras now being used is hidden under the PSU shroud. The case itself is of Acer's own design and is pretty good. Front mesh for the 360mm of intake brings in fresh air (along with the PSU on the bottom but the shroud blocks it from bring it into the case) and the rear and AIO are the exhausts. The fans and AIO have a beautiful infinity looks similar to Lian Li and are SUPER quiet. My CPU temps average from 40c idle to 65-75 under load (gaming). The included KB and Optical Mouse aren't too much to write home about, but they get the job done. In fact I still use them both after a week of gaming. Performance ------------------------------------------- Streaming - overkill Web browsing - overkill Productivity - overkill Gaming - Excellent Now the Predator can easily handle 1080p gaming with absolutely no issues and 4k probably at mid settings, but I personally love and prefer 1440p. So the rest of the review is going off of that info. At 1st I was wondering why the PC kept maxing out my FPS at 60 until I realized Windows under Display Settings set it to 60. Once I changed it to 165 that my ASUS RoG could do, everything was smooth as butter. Recently I have been playing my favorite horror game ever, Subnautica and also it's sequel Subnautica 2 on maxed out settings and you can see my FPS is usually a respectable 80+ FPS. Benchmarking with Shadow of the Tomb Raider on High settings is averaging 235+. Also WoW on maxed settings is capping at 165 but the game isn't really demanding. At 1440p, the combination of the 265KF and the 5070 can easily handle all AAA to Indie titles you throw at it and barely break a sweat. Other thoughts --------------------------------------------------- Noise - The PC is dead quiet. I mean I can see the fans spinning and feel the air flowing, but the simple fact is, the PC is SUPER quiet. Bloatware - Having only been giving 1TB of SSD space, Acer gets props for having very little included bloatware taking up space. I only removed the stuff I hate including McAfee, AI stuff and most of the Office 365 software I don't need on a gaming PC. Oddly enough though, the 1 thing I was looking for that was NOT included was Acer's own Predator Sense app. This is usually for temp readings, RGB control etc. I tried to download it manually, but the PC doesn't even show up on Acer's website so it wouldn't let me download it. Hopefully this changes in the future as I do want to control my lighting (unless you just want to keep the default rainbow scheme). BIOS - Usually prebuilts are notorious for having outdated BIOS, but the Gigabyte BIOS version was only 1 version behind (by 1 month) but even then the newer version just had more RAM compatibility so no points lost from me here. XMP - The only downside from what I can see. The included Kingston Fury RAM can do 6000MT/s but since it wasn't on by default, you are handicapped to 4800MT/s so there is some performance lost right there. Especially for those not to knowledgeable with PCs. Cable management - Super clean. After opening the rig and double checking all plugs on the Motherboard and also the RGB hub in the back, I found nothing loose or unplugged. Great job Acer! Price to Performance ---------------------------------------------- With components being priced as they are recently, prebuilts to me will be a great solution from the pricey alternative custom building. I even went as far as individually pricing out all the components used in this Predator and found them to be literally ALMOST the same as the price Acer is charging. That is a massive win to consumers since there are very little markup. Plus you get a warranty through them so the price to performance ratio is excellent. Even better and a no brainer if the system goes on sale. Final thoughts ------------------------------------------------------- Since changing their design of the case, using premium components and pricing it very fairly, I cannot recommend the Acer Predator enough for those looking for a complete gaming rig.
