Excellent gadget for elementary students...
Bob this item for my 10-year-old, she loves it. Slides that are included in the box were helpful. However she made her own slides for fun with the enclosed material.

Great equipment for beginning biologists and more
We bought this microscope as a symbolic present for our son's birthday - 19 years old - and although later he received a much more sophisticated equipment for his biology research work, still uses his 40-600x Celestron. I sometimes borough it for research during my gardening projects. Celestron 40-600x digital microscope allows for the visualization of tissues and small organisms. It is particularly good at using in combination with a laptop for better visualization and recordings of short term processes. Just follow the instructions to avoid over-lighting your samples.

Not bad for the price
Simply put, you get what you pay for. I wanted this item to use in my biology classroom so that I'm able to show students how to use a microscope and illustrate techniques. I wish it provided images with greater clarity. I also like, however, that you are able to snapshot the image and save it for a later use.
