As incredible as it seems, CBS head man James Aubrey originally vetoed his network's presentation of the animated A Charlie Brown Christmas on the grounds that Charles M. Schultz's round-headed protagonist was a "loser" who wouldn't attract an audience! The story proposes that Charlie Brown is convinced that the true meaning of Christmas has been forgotten by his Peanuts friends, not to mention the rest of the world. "Psychiatrist" Lucy advises Charlie Brown to get into the holiday spirit by directing the kids' upcoming Christmas play. Despite his utter lack of control over his cast, Charlie Brown takes his job seriously, even setting out to find a genuine Christmas tree to decorate the set instead of the usual aluminum job. But Charlie Brown's tree is a scrawny, pathetic thing, and all seems lost. That is, until the rest of the Peanuts gang decide to pitch in and decorate the woebegone tree. An instant hit when first telecast December 9, 1965, A Charlie Brown Christmas has been rebroadcast virtually every year since. It was produced by Lee Mendelson and Bill Melendez, the latter providing the squeals and growls of Charlie Brown's hyper-intelligent dog, Snoopy.~Hal Erickson

A Charlie Brown Christmas [Deluxe Edition] [2 Discs] [Blu-ray]
This is a family classic in our family. we still sit down during the holidays to watch this program among-st others. We love Charlie Brown n the whole Peanuts gang. We will watch this programs a number of times per years.
Picked this up this year since Apple monopolized this 55 year old classic to leverage subscriptions to Apple TV, and this version doesn't disappoint. It includes two discs, both UHD and Blu-ray versions, plus a digital code. In addition, you can watch the show in the original 4:3 television format, or in 16:9 wide-screen, which is fantastic.
The picture quality in UHD is impeccable, and it is certain that the viewing public has never seen the show in this condition in the whole 55 years it has existed. It's the same classic, but absolutely spotless. It's clean, colors pop, and there is no noise. HDR is great too.
I am ashamed it took me this long to buy it, but this has been a network TV staple for me since I was a child. This is the most excellent version of this show that you can buy.
Includes the original "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown". They're in complete HD, for better or for worse. Everything is nice and clear, but visual errors and the low budget of the first cartoon are very evident. These problems aren't so apparent in the 1992 sequel, but the inclusion of that cartoon is more of a bonus because everyone's no doubt here for the 1965 original. Despite the drawbacks, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is a great cartoon that's still as relevant today as ever, definitely worth a purchase.

Another Charlie Brown Christmas
Owned for 1 week when reviewed.
This is probably the most famous of the Charlie Brown Specials. Also included is another Christmas themed episode, and a Making of A Charlie Brown Christmas special feature.. The popularity of Charlie Brown DVD's is going through the roof. In case you don't know, there won't be any Charlie Brown specials on network TV this year. The only way to see them is either on DVD or on streaming TV. This is a true holiday classic, and deserves to be seen every season. From Charlie Browns' skimpy tree, to Linus' true meaning of Christmas, it's all wonderful. Enjoy!
I bought "A Charlie Brown Christmas [50th Anniversary]" as a Christmas gift for my neighbor, who is all about Peanuts. I recently had to bring my computer to her house to enable her to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" via AppleTV, so this gift was already on my mind at Halloween: now that local TV stations are not necessarily airing these holiday classics anymore, I wanted to ensure that she had a copy forever. Lots of extras; perfect gift for her!
I have always loved this Classic Christmas Story, which it seems is cherished by millions. The quality of the video is excellent, and is limited only by the quality of the original production. The delivery was prompt, and the quality of service was excellent. The DVD arrived in excellent condition and was undamaged in delivery. I am happy I decided to purchase this program through the Best Buy Franchise, and I purchased it online.
