Charming movie! Laurence Oliver’s last film
Set in France and Italy this movie is outstanding. Great plot. George Roy Hill directed a masterful story about first love
A wonderful film about first love, told from the perspective of youth. Laurence Olivier, in the winter of his years, in a marvelous performance filled with a performance that is honest and filled with the warmth that only an actor of Olivier's stature can exude. Played with the fairy tale innocence of youth, the frail love of a spoiled actress mother, but a strong, yet understanding love of a stepfather, this lovely story of first love will charm and remain in one's heart forever.
