The high-performance AMD Radeon RX 560X graphics card provides powerful gaming performance and detailed graphics that look great on the Full HD display. This Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop features an AMD Ryzen 5 processor for a smooth and responsive user experience.
Q: Is this graphics card similar to a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050?
A: According to notebookcheck faster than 1050 yet little slower than 1050Ti
Q: Can this run fortnite well?
A: I have been able to play World of Warcraft on this with no issues. I have the graphics settings pretty high. I don’t play Fortnite, but I have seen it and I don’t think it is as graphically demanding as WOW. I have used this to go through some Mythic dungeons will no lag, all while running discord, and twitch. (I use twitch for the mods) I also ran a bench mark type test on the graphics card, this on ranked close to the 1070ti. I am planning on upgrading the Ram from 8gigs to 16 in the near future. But, I must say, after removing all of the bloatware that comes with this thing (antivirus, Dolby digital audio apps, and other items that slowed it way down upon start up) this runs smooth as butter!! I usually game with my custom built desktop and had purchased this to take with me when I have to travel for work. It has not disappointed!! Plus, I must say, great item with a great price! Acer has really stepped up their game.
Q: Is this laptop good for fortnite and call of duty?
A: If you're expecting 1080p medium-high settings, this laptop is a 60 fps champ. Expect the framerate to lower substantially if you crank the settings to Ultra, however.
Q: Would this be good for gaming for maybe 3 hours
A: Not too sure. Performance on battery is pretty poor. I expect you to game on it for maybe an hour and a half only on the battery. I always have it plugged in when I game and the performance is great.
A: The processor is nothing to flop at, it's amazing irl usage. Ram can be upgraded, it has 2 slots, 1 in use with 1 x 8gb. It has a second SSD/HDD slot ready for you.
A: I'm still waiting for the Ryzen 7 2700U for this specific Acer model. But video editing is a strong point of the Ryzen architecture in general.
A: No, this is not a VR ready model.
Q: Is the BIOS and hardware compatible with a swap to a 2nd gen Ryzen 7?
A: The internal components such as GPU and CPU are soldered on the mainboard and are not upgradeable.
