I'm an owner of GH2, GH3 and Rock Band, all on Xbox 360. So I when I heard GH was coming to the Nintendo DS I pre-ordered that very same day!
I got it today and was very excited to start playing but was almost immediately disappointed by some of the controls. First as others have mentioned the buttons are small. I've already experienced several times where one finger hits two keys and I miss the note.
On top of that it seems that the buttons need to be positioned further 'up' on the DS. I hold the DS in my left hand. The natural position of the DS in my palm causes my pointer (green button) finger to rest too high, beyond the frets. This is because the DS has to be perpendicular to your hand, it would work better if it were slightly angled.
Lastly a problem I've experienced a few times adjusting my grip is that occasionally the Guitar Grip comes lose from the GB Advance slot. causing the game to give an error message and freeze.
If you LOVE GH you'll like GH On Tour. But buyer beware. They've got some bugs to work out

If you like guitar hero you will love this. the song tracks are great. It's really easy to use. it does get uncomfortble for your wrist and fingers if you are playing too long and the cartridge seems to slip out a lot. other than that i beat the game the first day i got it!!!

This is a great game to have if you are a fan of the big console versions of Guitar Hero. It's great to know that you can take the game with you anywhere you go. I love the fact that if I'm in a doctors office or on a plane trip I can just take the game out and play. It's a great way to pass the time away.
In response to the person that said that one of the cons is that the graphics are not that great well of course they aren't because it is on the DS. The DS does not have the best graphics.
But the concept and game play is awesome and I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the game!

Well i thought the game prospect of it was great following the songs were great as well.
All though there is a disappointment. When you try to align your fingers with the buttons they are 1 finger off so BEWARE. Other then the bugs and the finger problem the game was all over GREAT

I got guitar hero today and i havent put it down! if u like guitar hero for wii, x box, playstation, etc. you'll love guitar hero for ds. after like 15 minutes my wrist starts to hurt, and sometimes the grip falls out and you have to restart the game. its pretty pricey but its worth it. overall, a really good game.

This game is great.Although there were some slight changes from the regular Guitar Hero you were used to.They have instead decided to make a Guitar Hero that you can take anywhere at anytime. So they have made a Guitar grip including an additional pick stylus.Although they tried to make the guitar similar to a handheld portable device...they could not put all 5 frets on the grip which is a little disappointing. But, great overall. You're wrist may start to hurt during the middle of a song...to get rid of that..all you basically have to do is take a quick 5 minute break if it starts aching..... otherwise you can experience some pain in the wrist. But,overall i'd give this game a two thumbs-up and a rate of 5 over 5!!!

I think this game is super great, i always wanted to play guitar hero for ps2 but was not willing to pay the money for the controller and game, i just got the game and have been glued to it ever since {well except for right now}. The easy level is super easy but the hard and expert levels or a lot more challenging, especially since both of these modes use akward combos that are hard to manage at times. there is a practice mode, so you can brush up your skills. i also like the duel feature, it's a nice alternative to playing multiplayer.
The only problem with this game is that it is extreamly addictive, which leads you to want to play more, thus causing your hands to cramp, or numb ...
Also the audio is pretty poor, but that can quickly be fixed by using head phones
for the price, this games is awesome, i might actually get GH for PS2....Looks like this game has created another GH Addict
