A: This answer will vary widely depending on how you use it. If you are gaming; no, the battery will drain very quickly. If you turn down the screen brightness and do nothing but surf the web, you may be able to get 3-4 hours. The laptop is definitely intended for gaming more than battery life, but with having a big 17" fast display and a high end CPU, the fact that I can get that long of battery astounds me, personally. I remember when getting an hour and a half or less of battery on a gaming laptop was considered good.
A: It has a multicolored keyboard. I have not tried to adjust it but previous computers like this the color could be adjusted and turned off. It also has lights around the base.
