Q: How do I connect airpods to this transmitter. They don’t want to pair.
A: My first ALURATEK BLUETOOTH UNIVERSAL AUDIO TRAN would not pair with anything! I took it back and exchanged it - the next one pairs automatically with everything!
A: This device plugs into a headphone jack on your TV. If your TV has a headphone jack then this device will work.
A: You need to run a simple test before you can solve the problem. Have you plugged in a standard, wired headphone into the new TV's headphone jack to see if it is "live?" The transmitter can only broadcast what it "sees" at its input. You may be broadcasting silence if the headphone jack is disabled in your TV's SETTINGS. I'd bet the test headphones (wired) are silent, too. Most TV's are delivered with the headphone jack disabled in the settings. My LG is that way. In order to get multi-channel output through HDMI or optical, you can't also have stereo to the headphone output. The TV manufacturer expects the end user is primarily interested in multi-channel output. If you go into your SOUND or AUDIO settings you will likely see a list of options where you can choose which outputs to enable and/or how many channels to output. Some choices may force you to choose between two desirable outcomes, and give up something.
Q: will this device send audio to 2 Bluetooth speakers?
A: Yes, it can connect with two Bluetooth devices at the same time. This can be any combination of two speakers, two headphones or even a pair of headphones and a speaker.
Q: my indicator light is constantly on red and blue and it won't turn off, what does this mean?
A: According to Aluratek customer service, which I just called about my own device with the same symptom, the solid blue and red light together means this device has to be reset, but that is not possible. They told me I have to return mine to replace it with a different model (ABC01F) which is resettable but costs 138% more than this one.
Q: Is having a headphone jack on your tv the only way this transmitter will work
A: RCA jacks work. But the device doesn’t last long.
Q: Does this device support the HI-FI audio modes as well as the lo-fi communication modes?
A: Absolutely not. If it "technically does" through the bluetooth spec, it still sounds like junk. This transmitter is VERY noisy. Static and ticking. It is not what you want for hi-fi by any means.
A: Yes you can. Just plug the Alturek into your headphone jack of your TV. Then turn on your Bluetooth speaker and let it pair up with your Alturek.
