Q: Before purchasing this remote I asked online if it would sync up with the 2nd generation Firestick and was told it would. I bought it. The packaging states it will sync up with 2nd generation Firesticks. After many tries, it won't sync up. Any ideas?

A: No, mine did not either. I have both 1st and 2nd generation and difficulty syncing with both. Got it one time with the 2nd generation them after a couple days it lost sync and would not connect again. Also the fire stick always defaults as the main source everytime I turn on the TV even with the source left on another one when it was turned off. I was told it's a fire stick programming issue cause I have attempted to change my settings on the TV and nothing works, it continues to turn the fire stick on every time I turn on the TV. Frustrating.

A: It will work great but if you’re interested in keeping the old one, all you have to do is resync it. Hold down home button for 30 seconds. And you may have to do it multiple times but eventually it’ll resync.

Each devices has its own differences, such as with the Fire TV Stick Lite does not offer power and volume control on the remote, and the regular Fire TV stick does.
