A: Yes it has a ad on lock screen. Does not bother me at all in fact barely notice it once I unlock the screen, I would not pay to get rid of it since its only in screensaver mode but that's me.

A: Yes, you can read books, listen to audiobooks, listen to music and browse the web. The tablet's home screen has the list across the top where you can select a variety of options. You just select for example books and it will take you to your Amazon library or you can select store from there. There are also apps that connect to your local library where you can borrow books and audiobooks for free. If you go to the library they can help with that. It's very user friendly.
