Aww yes. The AOC Q27whatsitnumbered monitor! Lets just jump out first and say this product has exceeded my expectations. I recently built a computer and was contemplating all sorts of $400+ monitors to play those sweet sweet games and hd videos. Originally thought 1080p but I have a 4k camera that I mainly record in 2k for a balance of high resolution and more fps so I bumped up to a 1440p goal. Out of all the gimmicks and not really necessary "sleek" gaming oreinted looks of others I came across this monitor on sale. Honestly, I was skeptical about making this purchase but I inevitably dove in. Upon arrival, it was boxed nicely with all the necessary components included. It has a very nice minimalistic appeal to it. The only gripe I have is the glossy finish. It is a dust magnet but otherwise I like the look on my desk. As far as performance, Im no monitor enthusiast so maybe my opinion will be nill to most but so far I've felt the quality to price ratio (when comparing similar monitors that are quite more expensive) has been great. I've had no light bleeding on edges and the tn panel seems to be better than what people say online. Viewing angles are better than what I read of the tn vartiety but I always sit in front anyway. The 1ms response time seems correct so far and Ive not noticed any latency yet. But I have yet to play any twitch shooters to give a definite response. Colors seem good, my wallpaper pops nicely, and games have looked nice on it so far. I had to adjust the colors out of box but I really have no complaints there. This is my first better than 1080p resolution experience and its a nice little bump to the overall experience. Overall, I'd say I'm happy with my purchase. I'm not to picky of a person but I like what I like. Considering I almost threw 600ish dollars on another monitor, Id say the value here is great. Its a great product with good build quality. And at the end of the day thats worth it.

Great Monitor. Works with 2010 Mac Mini

I'm using this monitor with a mid 2010 Mac mini (for those Mac users) and it works perfect right out of the box. The monitor comes with a standard display port cable and a VGA cable. (It did not come with a DVI nor a HDMI cable). Check for which cable you may need for your setup. For the Mac mini to display it's full resolution of 2560 x 1440, you'll need a mini display port to standard display port (not included). Macs don't use a standard display port but a mini display port. For later model macs that became known as Thunderbolt, which is the same size port/plug. The monitor also has a port for audio. At first I thought it had speakers, but it does not. I think it's there for a different or higher model? Or it may serve as a pass through for audio? The instructions point it out but do not mention why or how to turn it on. On close inspection I could not find any speakers built in either. (I previously owned the smaller 24 inch AOC with speakers, so I know what it looks like and where it was mounted.) Despite not having speakers, I still think it is a good value and quality monitor. I can say that pictures and movies are clear. I use this monitor as a home office monitor as well, and the text and size are amazing. Comparing with other similar models, this AOC 2560 x 1440 is the best quality and value out there. I highly recommend the AOC monitor. It had no problems with a Mac either.

I purchased this monitor to go with my new HP Spectre x360 laptop. The display port connection is excellent and I have no complaints about the totally immersive effect of the 1440p images on this AOC Q2778VQE monitor. The monitor is basic with an unimpressive base and a wider than optimal shiny black plastic bezel around the screen. There are no integral speakers with this monitor, but I think an external speaker system is preferable to the best on board speakers found in monitors. The picture quality right out of the box is quite good. I dialed down the brightness some and made other minor tweaks to the settings. As far as my eye can discern, this is a perfect result. This monitor features a TN screen not IPS. Even so, the lateral image and color quality are both excellent out along the horizontal axis to 150 degrees. Going off center along the vertical axis at +/- 20-25 degrees does introduce some deterioration of image quality. That doesn't matter to me because I sit right in front of the thing anyway! As a value proposition this monitor cannot be beat. I purchased it from Best Buy for $259.

Great monitor for the money - I was deciding between a 4K monitor and this one - for what I do, could not justify the extra expense of a 4k monitor - very glad I went with this monitor. Sharp, crisp picture, renders my video just as I like - there are many good monitors to choose from - just know that I have used this monitor for two months now, I edit a lot of video, and this monitor does the job.

    Problems out of the box.

Either in shipping it got damaged or maybe this one was a dud. Opened it hooked it up and right off the bat there was purple-ish pixels showing up on black parts of the screen (similar to the effect of the spray can in paint). When I did a monitor test I had vertical black lines appear. When it was a complete black screen I saw a constant waves of purple-ish pixels flow over the screen.

I have a single EVGA Titan Black driving these monitors and they are great. No dead pixcles and no tearing of the picture during fast changing game playing. Plus they have the major connections - Dual-Link DVI, Display Port, and HDMI.

Other than the ZERO installation documentation, it works just fine. For someone that is not well versed in hooking up new devices to an existing computer, this would have been difficult for them.
