Best Laptop ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to spend the extra money and get the pro since my wife had the air , too my surprise I walked into Best buy and they had the Pro Retina on sale . Now that I'm able to compare the 2 laptops side by side at home my pro is heavier than my wife's Air but I'm in no way offended by the extra weight . The picture quality is far suppior on the Pro Retina. I'm glad I decided to spend the extra money and get the Pro retina.

Love My NEW MacBook Pro
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought a new MacBook Pro 13" online through BestBuy.com and picked up my product in store. Although there was a slight mix up at the time of pick up. (I was given a 15" instead of 13"), I was pleased with the quality of service I received online and in the store. BestBuy is my spot for purchasing top of the line electronics.

Awesome laptop *****
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the MacBook Pro 13" 2014 retina display edition it's super fast, easy to use if your familiar with apple products the battery life is amazing it lasts more than a day just gotta keep on eye on it when you charge it you don't want to over charge it to long it will kill the batteries life span, I love the lit up keyboard and how you can dim the lighting if it feels to bright, the MacBook Pro itself has a nice silver brushed finish to it, very thinner than the old MacBook Pro, light weight, the new hdmi port is amazing and now you don't have to buy a separate cord adapter for it, just don't like that it doesn't have a disc drive it would of been cool to play blurays and DVDs but I understand the future is going digital so it's not all that bad so overall I give it ***** five stars !!

Great laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never been an Apple fan until now. This is by far my best experience with a laptop ever! Starting with the top of the line buying experience at the Warwick, RI location with the Apple rep Fernando. He answered all of my questions and concerns about switching a life long Windows user over to Mac. He also matched my needs/wants to this specific machine. Thanks to this laptop, I am no longer worried about finding an outlet at a coffee shop, library, class room, etc....The battery life is great. It is extremely quiet. You can not hear it when its on. It is very light and compact but with just the right screen size to make it easy to take anywhere. It is also very fast. As soon as you turn it on, it's instantly ready to take on any task without any delay. The retina display is definitly worth the extra $$$. Pictures and videos look amazing and text is easier on the eyes. Multitasking is very easy with the trackpad gestures. This has gone so well that I may even consider getting an iPhone...... I can go on and on about this machine but I rather stop and recommend that you go see for yourself.

Amazing computer for college student
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this MacBook for college, since I needed a computer that could go from 7am to 5pm without needing a charge and it integrates easily with my other Apple products. I was amazed that the battery not only lasted from 7am to 5pm, but continued to go up until I went to sleep around 10pm. That alone justified the price, but then more and more kept adding up to make this purchase seem like I got an amazing deal. For example, the performance is absolutely incredible. I have several other computers in my house, including high-class gaming PCs that just can't compare to the power and efficiency of my MacBook. I was blown away when I saw that this little laptop/ notebook was outperforming every computer I pitted it up against. Apple really stepped it up a notch when they designed this computer, everything is so incredibly fast, and yet the computer is so power efficient that I can't kill the battery with normal use. That being said, I will warn anyone planning to play games like Call of Duty or other big game titles on this, bring your power cords. This MacBook will handle mostly any game with ease, but battery life is cut in half if you're playing COD Multiplayer. Before anything, the first thing you'll notice is how quick the computer starts up. Mine boots and is at the login screen within 10 seconds, and is ready to use immediately after I put in my password. Speaking of screens, the retina display is my favorite feature of the MacBook by far. Anyone with an iPhone or newer iPad (or some android phones) knows how clear those screens look. The display looks exactly the same as my iPhone 5s, and with that comes a warning. Text is incredibly clear, pictures look almost as good as if your eye were the lens of the camera, and movies look absolutely stunning. The warning I mentioned earlier? Well, this display will absolutely spoil you from other displays. Most computer monitors nowadays are 1080p (1920 by 1080), which looks really good. BUT, the MacBook Pro's display is 2560 by 1600. So there are more pixels in this little display than in a 50 inch 1080p HDTV, just something to think about. One thing that you'll probably be surprised to hear, is literally what you can hear from the speakers in this little computer. Laptop/notebook speakers normally have "why bother" speakers built into them, as in "why bother" putting them in the computer in the first place due to their horrible audio quality and volume output. I was pleasantly surprised to put a movie on and have the sound level cause me to jump at 100%, still be too loud at 75%, let's go to 50%, still too loud, 25%, perfect. Anyone who knows anything about sound knows that you can make a speaker go as loud as you want, but it will sound progressively worse and worse as the volume goes up. This is not the case with the MacBook, as even at 100% volume, audio is crystal clear and bass doesn't sound like it's tearing the speaker apart. While is doesn't make the house shake, the bass is plenty good enough to listen to your favorite beats and give you the feeling of having your own little cinema in your lap. The following paragraph is purely for the techies or people worried about their old accessories not working: MacBooks now come standard with USB 3.0 ports (compatible with any USB cable ever made), HDMI (which supports HDCP and outputting up to 4K resolutions), Thunderbolt 2.0 (Apple's version of usb that is ridiculously fast and also capable of outputting 4K resolutions to a display), SDXC card reader (basically any SD card or camera card can be used in this port, and the headphone jack also can use your headphones that have microphones in them as a headset. I have yet to come across an accessory that won't work on this computer. The camera quality leaves a little to be desired, but in a decently-lit room, FaceTime or PhotoBooth selfies should be good enough to use. This is to be expected from a webcam, but it does shoot 720p at 30fps. (if you don't know what this is, don't worry, it is plenty good enough to use as a webcam) The microphones (yes there are two, so you never have to worry about covering one) pickup audio crystal clear and people on FaceTime could hear you just as good even if you were talking across your house. There are so many good things about this computer, I cannot possibly list them all in one review. I'm sure you are wondering what the bad things are after hearing about the good things. And here they are, the display is incredibly bright when maxed out at 100%, almost uncomfortably bright if you are looking at a word document or a website with a lot of text. The keyboard light also can be extremely bright at night or in a dark room, I usually keep mine off during the day/in bright rooms, and turn it to about 50% (8/16 notches) at night. If you are deciding on whether or not to get a MacBook to use for college, I'd say absolutely get this one or the one with more storage. You won't find a computer this size that performs as well, looks as beautiful, or has a battery life like this. This computer feels very solidly made, and I have yet to see a single scratch or nick on the aluminum body or glass display. If the lack of a Blu-ray/DVD/CD drive is really a problem, you can pick a portable USB 3.0 Blu-ray drive on amazon for around $40 plus shipping. I ordered an external USB LG Blu-ray drive and it works fantastically. A big concern with some people is the screen reflecting really bad, especially on glass displays like in phones and tablets. This can be even worse on laptops, but not in this case. If you are sitting in direct sunlight, you can still see the screen without worrying about your face covering your homework. You can easily use this computer outside, and unless the screen is off, you won't see your reflection. Although if you turn the display brightness all the way down, it turns off the backlight. This can be very useful for saving battery life in sunlight, or checking to make sure you still look as good as you did when you last checked a mirror. All in all, if you want a computer with stellar performance, a beautiful display, and unbeatable battery life; I would highly recommend buying this MacBook Pro with Retina Display. You will not be disappointed in anything except the fact that you haven't purchased one sooner. I will recommend that you buy a Blu-ray drive, and an external hard drive if you like having a lot of media on your computer. But I love using this computer and I continue to be impressed by its light-weight, battery life, display, performance, and rock solid feel each time I pick it up and use it. P.S.- If you haven't already, make sure to pick up an Apple TV. You can use your TV as a wireless monitor for your MacBook. Meaning all the awesome movies, tv shows, music, and even games you have on your computer can go up on the big screen with little effort. Enjoy!

Great MacBook for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop for both existing Mac users and new Mac users. It is the perfect size/weight for carrying around without your arm getting tired. It is also very fast. The only downfall is the size of flash storage. 128GB is not a lot to work with. I suggest looking at getting a JetDrive from Transcend (or something similar) that adds storage via the SD card slot, that mounts flat against the Mac so it doesn't stick out and get caught on things.
