Apple TV 2015 - Skip this revolution
Posted .https://youtu.be/1zYY0LCZgG0 It has been rumored for years that Apple was developing a product that would revolutionize how we experience television. And what I expected most was for this product to free me from cable companies. Does the new Apple TV live up to the years of built up expectation? In terms of design the Apple TV is simple and doesn’t distract. The remote looks and feels amazing. It is has six buttons a touch surface. You can call up Siri, adjust volume, and control games. Even though the touch surface is a main selling point. It did not do it for me. Sure it’s better, but not by much. Oddly the iphone remote app is not compatible with the new Apple TV. So, you have no convenient way to enter text. When it comes to performance the Apple TV has an A8 64-bit chip. Everything about the Apple TV is snappy and responsive. Games look good This is the best gaming performance you can get out side of the playstation and xbox. It lacks 4k support, but there still isn’t a lot of 4k content so at this point you probably won’t miss it much. The connections will have you covered with HDMI 1.4 and Ethernet. Siri can be a mixed experience on the iPhone. But when Siri has to only answer questions that pertain to movies and tv shows it performs consistently. Apple TV has most of the services you will want. Netflix, Hulu and, of course, iTunes are all here. A significant number of my digital movies are through VUDU, so it is disappointing to see that there is no VUDU app. It is odd that there are apps from VUDU and Amazon Video on the iPhone but not on the Apple TV. Even though the potential of TV-OS is promising, you still need to have a cable subscription to access the shows and movies you normally watch. Specifically, there is no way for you to watch NBC, Fox, ABC, ESPN or AMC for the Walking dead without a subscription. But say you choose to only go with apps that require a monthly subscription. Here is short list that most of us would consider. HBO Now ( for game of thrones) $14.99 , Showtime $11, CBS All Access $6, Netflix (house of cards) $8.99, and let’s add HULU for access to from FOX, NBC and ABC. That’ll cost $11.99. and through the league passes for the NBA($30/month) and MLB($19) that will cost you $101.99/month. If you can skip sports and premium channels and just go with HULU. $11.99 a month is not bad. Any benefits in cost evaporate once you try to add sports. What can I say, the User Interface is second to none. It looks absolutely amazing. It is new and fresh and the parallax posters are a nice touch. This easily beats any UI from the competition. Overall it is really easy to find what I want. For $149 streaming box, the Apple TV offers the best experience when compared to chromecast or Amazon Fire TV. When compared to cable companies, it was disappointing to realize that you don’t actually save much money. Its hard to gauge whether the Apple TV is a great product or if its just the best streaming box amongst a set of mediocre streaming boxes. But the Apple TV has far more potential when compared to the competition. When more apps are created specifically for the Apple TV, apps that are truly interactive, then we will get something that more closely resembles the revolutionary product we’ve been waiting for.

Love my Apple TV !
|Posted .This is my first Apple TV and I love it!!! It was very simple to set up and I really like that it pairs with your tv so u can just use one remote... The only downfall I can fine is that there is no native web browser... And normally that's not a big deal bc I own a couple of smart Tvs that have a native web browser. The tv that I currently have this on is not a smart tv so you can understand my frustration. Overall I really enjoy everything about this new model... Smooth touch pad Rechargeable remote Simplicity up install And amazingly easy operating system Give this system a solid two thumbs up!

Best streaming system ever
|Posted .I previously owned a Roku and worked well for about a year and found it to be more costly than it was worth to get it fixed... Most of my other devices are Apple so decided to do some research and go with the Apple TV 32gb... And it took my streaming experience to another level. Love everything about it, just hope to be able to stream Amazon prime to my Apple TV. (Not currently associated from my knowledge)

Awesomeitize your tv
|Posted .All I knew what I wanted an Apple TV. I bought an older one for my mom's birthday prior to that and figured I would get a new one when it came out. I had no idea how much better it would be than the previous generation. It's like an iPhone, for your tv! If we didn't have dish, I could live off of just that I'm sure. I love the trackpad, and AirPlay for showcasing pictures and videos, because I am a film maker. And also, the Bluetooth is awesome, it's very reliable. I connected my sound bar to it no problem, and it's a Samsung! Long story short, if your looking for a great gadget to improve your tv, don't waste your time on that fire tv or rocky stuff. Go for the big guns! You won't regret it! God bless you guys!

AppleTV's good, Siri's a little limited :-t
|Posted .It was implied that you could ask Siri anything and she could find it for you (Hey Siri, find me Inspector Morse on Netflix). Sadly, it seems, Siri can direct you to things on iTunes but little else. If you're going to force a CG "assistant" on me, make it do what the Hades an assistant is supposed to, not be a "product placement device". Over all, I like the Apple tv. Mirroring and numerous apps are great. I also like the aerial screen savers which you can set up to run while you still listen to Pandora (or other music app). In short, AppleTV is good, Siri could use some work.

Great upgrade
|Posted .We recently dumped cable. In addition to getting a digital antenna we upgraded to the new Apple TV for all the Apps, for our content on Apple - music, movies and TV shows and for Netflix and Hulu. Our cost for a better internet connection and for 60 local channels and all the content we could ever want went from $275 per month to less than $80. Apple TV took about 10 minutes to set up. Great product!

No More U-verse!
|Posted .I love my apple tv! The only reason that I use the basic cable is to watch network news. All of my favorite shows can be accessed through the apple device. While it is easy to move from one tv to another, I am going to purchase another apple device because everyone else wants to use the apple tv.

Apple TV, one of the smartest decisions I've ever
|Posted .This unit does everything I need and way more... if you have an iPhone or iPad it even makes life so much more easy and provides a ton of awesome user experience. Even if you don't have other Apple products, this unit has such a great interface that you'll wonder how you lived without all this time. You can load apps like Plex (media streamer) and there are a bunch already buiolt in. And if you enjoy Siri... she comes with it too !

Q: QuestionDo I need a smart tv for this Apple TV box?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The AppleTV makes your TV a "Smart TV". So essentially you could use it with "dumb tvs" and "smart ones" :) Hope this helps... I do recommend this as a much more reliable device for entertainment that using anything built into a tv.
