A: No. My Asus MB168B has one and only one connection... A proprietary USB3 cable that comes with it. (interestingly enough, the same as my Toshiba USB Hard disk) It gets both the signal and power from the USB cable...

A: You can use it both ways; to mirror the computer or to extend the computer. Work fine either way.

A: No, this is not compatible with MacBook Pro, 16", retina display, 2014.
A: It connects using a usb 3.0 hub and thats all. As long as your destop has a usb 3 hub or supper speed usb port, it should work just fine. But why do you want to connect a desktop to a portable monitor. This combination doesnt make sense to me.
