I bought this telephone primarily for the speakerphone, and it works great. I also use the caller ID which gives information about the last 50 callers. The number buttons and the screen are fairly large and easy to see and use. This phone also has an answering machine, call waiting, speed dialing and remote access. Keep the user manual handy so you can refer to it. This phone can be wall mounted or placed on a table top. You must subscribe to Caller ID and Call Waiting provided by your local phone company to use these features.
I would recommend this to a friend

We needed an answering machine for ages, just bought the AT&T 1855. Initially there was a high pitched sound noted when people called in to leave a message. I was going to return the machine to Best Buy, but tried unplugging the machine from the wall electric cord and phone cords, and then reconnected it again, and there is no longer that high pitched sound. The panel that shows how many phone calls received etc is difficult to read. Hopefully this machine will last us a long time.
