I like it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. It’s easy to use with start button that auto plays then stops at the end of the lp and returns the stylus arm to the holder then shuts off. You can also lift the stylus arm with a button, move it to the spot on the record and then lower it. If you want to pause playing you can just press the raise/lower button and then press it again when you want to resume play. I don’t know if all turntables do that, but some reviews I saw on other sites for other players complained the arm didn’t return, so that’s one of the reasons I bought this. The other reasons were the brand was recommended on Amazon and this one has a preamp and they include headphones. The sound’s not like having an amp with good speakers but I don’t want to blow out my hearing anyway. The headphones don’t seem too comfortable to me as the band’s not padded, but I’m not a fan of them anyway, I like earbuds. I didn’t notice any difference in the sound quality with the headphones vs iPhone earbuds. I plugged an audio cable from the back port to my Sony boom box when I want to listen without buds. It’s not fantastic but it sounds like the record players we had in the 60s. I’m playing old mono and stereo vinyls from the 60-70s and I don’t have any complaints. Yeah it’d sound better with a receiver and speakers but it’s an ok entry point. I looked at a lot of record players and decided on this turntable so I can build a sound system gradually and inconspicuously lol The other thing I like is the dust cover is very light so it’s easy changing records which I do a lot. The cover is plastic which some may think is too thin but it’s fine for me. The other nice thing is the feet on it are just the right cling to the shelf top but not too much that I can’t easily move it. I’m sure high end consumers might complain it’s for a novice. I don’t know if that’s true or not but I think for the price point it’s a good value. You can listen by headphones without disturbing anyone. need I say more duuuhhhhhh

Great Starter Turntable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This record player (and it's variants) is an excellent choice for those starting out or renewing their love of records. It's a simple and straight forward design without the complications of some of the higher end turntables. The buttons and switches can be a bit loud and clunky when operating them, but it's not really an issue at this price. Ordered online for store pickup and everything went smoothly and quickly. I would definitely recommend this turntable to anyone starting out, as it's not super expensive but it's definitely a step up from some of the all-in-one or portable styles.

Great buy for beginners.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. Was iffy about this at first. Finally gave in, got the one with the headphones. Okay headphones, not the best but long cord which is good. Easy setup. Have it hooked up to my DVD player using the aux cable provided. Not a long cable so keep in mind to keep the record player close to your sound system. But you can always easily buy a longer aux cable. So far, no problems. Automatic for 12" and 7". 10" records you'll have to manually set the needle. Some 10" records are either 33 or 45rpm, but you'll know when to switch it once you hear it. Do buy a record cleaner and needle brush as well.

Record Player
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This replaced my old record player which was no longer playing at the correct speed. It works for my old albums. I have noticed that there are some songs that skip, but this was an existing condition. I briefly tried the headphones. They work, but I don't necessarily want to listen to music and stand by the record player. Wireless would be much better.

Had to return one, but the second was great.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I had one and returned it because the speed control wasn't working. One setting was Alvin and the Chipmunks and the other was FASTER. The replacement was great.

Q: QuestionDo you have to buy speakers to use with the turntable, or will the sound directly from the turntable be good enough? I’m looking to buy a new record player that’s actually good bc the crosley didn’t hold up, but i don’t want to spend too much on speakers.
Asked by recordlady.
- A:Answer You need speakers! No sound without them. I purchased "powered speakers" by Edifier (R1280T) for $100. Love them. Saves buying a receiver. Speakers must be 'powered' without a receiver. Good luck.

Q: QuestionWhat are the speeds? Is a pre-amp or analog digital converter needed? Is a cartridge included?
Asked by BoacRon.
- A:Answer The speeds are 33-1/3 and 45 RPM. A selectable (on or off) RIAA phono preamplifier is built into the unit. All of our USB models, such as this one, contain an A to D converter. The cartridges is an integral part of the tonearm assembly, only the stylus is replaceable - not the entire cartridge.

Q: QuestionPiggybacking on Pattycake's question, so I don't need an amp to power this? Just get the Edifier (R1280T) speakers and connect them with the turntable?
Asked by JZ.
- A:Answer Correct. You do not need a separate amplifier if the speakers are powered (aka active) type speakers. Powered speakers have the amplifier built into them.

Q: QuestionDoes this turntable have a counterweight, also what are the best speakers for this turntable?
Asked by Pattycake.
- A:Answer Hi Pattycake, This turntable does not have a counterweight. It's a basic turntable. It works fine. Plays my well worn albums from the '70's. I have yet to use the USB to transfer music to my computer. From research, the turntable I really wanted was $300. Decided I didn't need the higher end for the $$. I can easily recommend Edifier speakers (R1280T). These are 'powered' speakers so you do not need an amplifier or anything else to plug into. They plug directly into the turntable. Most speakers need an auxiliary to plug into. They sell for around $100 and sound fine. Also space saving size. Good luck.
