This a great mid level direct drive turntable. I am not using it for DJing just for home listening. I had technics direct dirve tables growing up so I just wanted a direct drive table. This model fixes all of the issues that the 120 model has. This model has adjustable feet, dampened platter and no premap = no hum like the 120 model. I also have had no speed issues like the lower priced 120 model and the crosley C200 model. I have this turntable fitted with a $149.00 Audio Technica Red Microline stylus and it really sounds nice. I am using a ART DJ Premap with no issues. Please understand that many direct drive turntables are made by Hanpin under different brands.
A:AnswerThe AT-LP140XP Turntable features all 3 speeds, but requires a 78 rpm stylus for playing 78 rpm records. You may replace the provided stylus with the AT-VMN95SP Stylus when you want to play 78 rpm records.
A:AnswerYes this is a better sounding turntable than the 120 because it does not have the built in pre-amp which causes hum and distortion. There is a mod to remove the pre-amp from the 120 and it only takes like 30 mins to do (Vids on google). I have the 140 and have about 100 hours on it. I have had no issues with pre-map noise, skating or motor speed. All of these things have been fixed on the 140 model.
A:AnswerNo, it will not. The AT-LP140XP Turntable is fully manual in operation, there are no automatic functions. At this time, only our fully automatic models - the belt-driven 2-speed AT-LP60 Series Turntables and the AT-LP3 Turntable have auto-return.
