A: I cleaned the collection compartment. Rinsed the water compartment that holds your water and soap. To make sure all the soap was out. Then the plastic cover over the brushes comes off. And can clean that and get all the clumps of hair and other debris out and clean it. Took me probably 5 minutes to clean. Was very happy with it.Q: Can you use any cleaner with this unit? A: I typically use Bissell cleaner. You add the cleaner to the water so as long as it's a pretty similar cleaner I don't see why you couldn't.
