Great Spike Lee directed movie
I love Adam Driver in this. Such a versatile character. Mr. Washington did amazing. Great cast. I can see why they received so many nominations. One of my favorite gifts I received for Christmas since Im a huge Adam Driver fan.
As you know Spike Lee has messages in his movies. There is allot of racial stuff in this movie because it's based off a book & the story is true. It can be tough to watch because it puts some of the nasty things in this world in your face. It's based in a different era, so the language & wardrobe is. It was a good movie as Spike Lee always delivers. I will warn you some of the racial things said in this movie will bother you, no matter what color you are. The language is graphic & actors in the movie convey the hatred in things their character say. They're good actors. Definitely put the kids to bed for those one. It's like a movie/documentary, not necessarily meant to tickle your funny bone. Watch additional features & see interview of the actual person that lived what's in the movie. I may read the book. Allot of the actors in this film read the book & decided they had to do this film. Great Movie, but tells & shows the ugly truths that we pretend no longer exist or never happened. #A Story that needed to be told.
