First, when I opened it, it came with a USB 2.0 cable. When I plugged it into my computer, it said "USB Not Recognized". I thought that maybe it was my motherboard (Gigabyte Z68). So I tried it on two other computers and it still did not work. I used my own USB 2.0 cable on my computer and it did start to work. When it did work, it picked up sound from me sitting at my desk. So it's perfect for getting close sound, not far away background noise. And the sound quality was great. However, after about a month of using a couple of times every weekend, it started the "USB Not Recognized" again. I tried about 5 different USB 2.0 plugs and 6 different USB 2.0 ports. It STILL does not work. I don't know if I can return it because I already ripped up the box. I may get a Samson microphone or another Blue Microphone as a replacement, since Blue Microphone products are of very high quality (except for this certain product). If you're looking for a microphone to use for recording your voice or recording sound, I recommend the Blue Yeti, Blue Snowball, or Samson meteor mic.

Weird echoing problem detrimental to use

Aside from the one problem which I will get to soon, this is very solid microphone. Setup was extremely easy, and it sounds perfectly clear for the most part. It has a stand which is well balanced, though you cannot adjust its height. However, you can tilt the microphone itself to have it face you. The main problem I had with this microphone is that every few minutes or so, seemingly randomly, there will be this weird echo that sounds almost as if the sound is trapped inside the microphone and is bouncing around. I have no idea what's causing it, but be aware of it if you're going to use it for doing anything you want polished. It works fine for Skype, Cortana, and more basic stuff like that. One additional quirk, there is a red light on the microphone that shines if it is connected, but in a dark room, it feels like HAL 9000 staring into your soul. Just disconnect the cable in the back when you're not using it and the light will turn off.

    Neat looking microphone

First the good: I bought 2 of these and they both took less then 5 minutes to set up with no problems at all on my 2 windows 10 home PC's and they pickup sound very well, they seem stable enough and both are working as they should. The bad: One of the mic's had a screw loose that had fell completely out of the unit if it was ever in the unit and had to be installed back into it's hole and tightened, The silver sticker band that goes around the center of the mic was placed on the mic very carelessly and had lots of wrinkles in it and had to be pulled off and stuck back on right, from this i can surmise the quality control for these mic's is at best the pit's. The upside is that they were on sale and both came with a 10 dollar gift certificates each, bringing them to a reasonable price for what they are!

I initially went into Best Buy grabbed this baby and started to head out when I seen another mic, it was the Blue Ice. I read and though that the Snowball would not be worth my money and I could NOT have been more incorrect. I am a youtuber and I also do voice overs, podcasts, streams, etc. If you are considering starting a career or have one and need a great mic (Beginner or not) I would highly recommend this mic hands down and not think twice about it. I went to guitar center and purchased a pop-filter for the digital book readings I do online to reduce "p-p-p-pop or sssstatic" when speaking and it woulds way better than I thought it would be. If your on the fence don't be, Blue as a company happens to be very impressive so far. I am and will upgrade to the Yeti one day but for now this is all I need.

    Nice microphone & build quailty.

I bought this SnowBall Ice microphone at a near by Bestbuy store. For starters this microphone has good weight to it which means it's built well. The included stand with the microphone is built out of metal which is nice. While the microphone does sound nice when playing back recorded voice. It does tend to pickup any background noise that is going around you. When trying out the microphone it picked up the 120mm fans in my desktop computer. If you plan on using this microphone to do stuff like gameplay commentary or video blogs. You might want to use the free software Audacity. To reduce any unwanted noise that been recorded. I was able to use Audacity to remove the noise the 120mm fans was making in the test I did. After the editing was done I sounded nice and clear which is a good.

I'm perfectly fine with it.... I think it is fabulous, but... this is a review so I'm just gonna tell you one tiny thing they could change. It's a little taller than I would like, and obviously from the picture on the box you can already see its kind of bulky, made to look vintage/sort of lol and I love the look :) I personally just like things a certain way and the microphone is something you don't use all the time. It performs so well that you don't have to have it right under you for it to pick up your voice. At its shortest point on the tripod, it's still an inch above the bottom of my monitor. It would just be a little more convenient to tuck it behind the monitor when not in use especially if you're working in a small space. Otherwise it's absolutely amazing...perfect...

This mic is a great cheaper option for those who are looking to do podcasts, music recording, etc. The sound quality is great and it's super easy to set up and use. The only complaint I have is the mic stand. It's made of plastic, where I believe the more expensive model of the Snowball is made of metal. I haven't had any problems with the stand, but it's very cheap feeling, and I would have gladly paid a few more bucks for a metal one. I don't have a big problem with it as I always leave the mic in the same place, but I can see how people who take it around with them or use for other projects could possibly break it easily. All in all, this product is more than worth the price, and I am not disappointed in the least with my purchase.

Probably a nice product, horrible customer service

Ordered this online. After two hours it was not ready for in-store pickup, so clerk suggested buying the product in the store and cancelling the online order. My husband did so only to discover when he got home that the "store" price was higher than the "online" price! First of all, forget placing an order and having it ready in "as little as 45 minutes" as advertised. Second, the associate should have advised him that the price was higher. Third, neither the store or the customer service toll free number will make a price adjustment. Needless to say, this item will be returned and purchased elsewhere. It's not the $ amount, but the principle of the matter. While waiting in the store for the associate to get the item, my husband decided to purchase a TV which I intend to return also.
