Stranges in Atlantic City
Stories of the mob are always intriguing to me and this one fits the bill. Lots of interesting characters, set in the time of prohibition and women's suffrage, the stories are engaging. It has a bit more nudity that I would care for, so definitely should be rated R just in case kids are around.Although fictional in nature, this show is simply groundbreaking. If you have not yet given it a chance, do so! The sets, character development, and story all leave little to be desired. And of course it doesn't hurt to have HBO and their unlimited budgets behind the show, either.
The second season of Boardwalk Empire was excellent viewing. I enjoyed following along as the story unfolded and presented a historical point of view of early 1920's life and how the prohibition of alcohol shaped America. The characters were brought to life with execellent dialogue, breathtaking scenes and masterful movie making. Recommend highly.
Great series! Blu-ray, DVD, and digital copy? Def can't go wrong with this one. Plus bought on sale at $35 def worth the price. As usual audio and video quality is great as expected on blu-ray. Packaging is nice and worth the price. Plus the series is great so it's nice to own and not have to stream on HBO or elsewhere.
