woa! definitely worth it
||Posted .These head phones come with soft cushions that truly make wearing them effortless and comfortable, not to mention they stay in place better which makes them great for an active wearer. They are clear and crisp and are any music lovers dream. I listen to all types of music and with these head phones you don't miss a snare, drum or violin. Truly wonderful and a good price for the quality. I also invested in the warranty for the product from Best Buy also definitely worth the protection at the cost!

Excellent Sound Quality
Posted .The Bose IE2 headphones are superb! I only wish they weren't so expensive. I almost did not buy these because of the price. After standing in the store contemplating the $99.99 price tag for a good 20min. though, I decided to purchase them. If you can justify the price, I highly recommend these headphones. The sound quality is unmatched. As for comments about weak bass... those people don't know what they are talking about. I like A LOT of bass in my music; these do not disappoint. I would suggest to those people to (1) check the quality of the recording, and (2) check the equalizer settings on their ipod, phone, or other portable device. I was able to adust the equalizer settings on my Droid X to give me just the right amount of bass. One other comment to note - These are NOT noise cancelling headphones. This was actually one of the reasons I bought them. The fact that I can still hear what is going on around me makes them perfect for an office environment. I am able to listing to my music and not have to worry about missing a phone call.

My 3rd pair
||Posted .I love the Bose earbud sound, wouldn't settle for anything less than these, after owning 2 pairs. Others comment about wire cover wearing through; yeah it happened on both pair (took longer on the 2nd pair, about 3 years), but I'm pretty rough on earbuds, never have had a pair that the wire wasn't the breakdown point, except cloth-covered Audio-Technica and Klipsch pairs (both lacking bass, and both fell out of my ears) I tried right before I switched to Bose. Also, the wires have never actually broken through to affect the sound, either. Another complaint of others is fit; I don't get it...my previous pair and this one have NEVER fallen out of my ears while running, hiking, biking. Not once. I think they are designed to fit loose at the entrance to the ear canal, contributing to the bass range and that open well separated stereo feel, as well as comfort. I don't like noise-cancelling technology (except when flying, or a coffee shop), so some ambient sound does get in (letting you know a car is on your tail, a runner needs to pass, someone is trying to get your attention), but I still hear every note I need to. (Bose = bass) Maybe some people's ears are not average shaped, I dunno. I could spend more, but no guarantee that anybody could improve on the durability or the sound, even going to the top end buds. A $300 pair would have to last 3 times as long (i.e., 8-9 years) to make me change! And these are still the most comfortable and least likely to fall out at my activity level.

Best work-out headphones I've ever purchased
||Posted .Theses headphones are absoilutely amazing. Anyone who knows anything about the Bose audio quality knows that they lead the industry, period. The major upgrade you receive with the Bose-IE2 is the earbud "inner ear" fit. The previous model, usless your ear canal was the perfect size for the product, still allowed for the headphone to move around during your workout, and eventually fall out. With this new design, they stay securely in place, and are comfortable to the point that I forget they are even there (if it wasn't for the music obviously). If your looking for the best combination of audio quality and convience for a workout, look no further. Headphones are the perfect example of "You get what you pay for." I waited three months before I decided to shell out the $100 bucks, and now I am kicking myself for not pulling the trigger earlier. Besides, with the amazing return policy that Best Buy has... if you don't like them, you can return them (within the time constraints). However, unless you have a physical defect with your ear canal, or you don't enjoy crystal clear audio quality, this will never cross your mind.

Finally earbuds that stay in place comfortably.
||Posted .Ive been using these for a couple months now, and while the bass/sound quality is quite good for earbuds sometimes I miss the sound you can get with full headphones. What I do not miss about my old headset is the weight on my head, the careful way I had to shift my head to keep them on.... and this is where this product truly shines. These earbuds fit very securely, comfortably and I can shake my head and walk at my treadmill desk without them moving out of place at all. They won't fall out unless you pull them out, and the multiple sizes of silicone wing shapes they come with should fit any size ear. I wear them for 5 to 10 hours a day and never feel any discomfort. I feel free, like I am not wearing anything at all. If this is important to you, get them. If full sound is more important, then maybe bulky headphones are your better choice. But for the size and comfort, the sound is definitely better than comparable buds. I should also mention that these do NOT block out ambient noise. I like being able to hear if someone walks into my room behind me, a cat is meowing for my attention, etc. So this is completely fine for me. I use them most often for gaming and skype calls with a separate desktop microphone.

An improvement from the 1st generation
||Posted .I purchased the 1st generation of the Bose in-ear headset 5 years ago. I used them during workouts and at work. After a period of time I noticed the outside sheath was cracking and exposing the wire underneath. Due to the high price I felt this was unacceptable. My $10 Sony earbuds are older and not even close to showing the wear and tear this Bose set did. I decided to take another chance and purchase the 2nd generation Bose in-ear buds as they were on sale and I had reward points to use. I noticed immediately a difference between the 1st and 2nd generation. The wiring is much thinner and appears to be more durable. Please note I have only had this set for a few months so I have yet to see what they will be like in 5 years. (FYI - I still have my Sony earbuds as backup). I really like the sound quality the Bose headset has to offer. They are comfortable in my ears and I can wear them for long periods of time. However, I do not use them during my workouts. I purchased a separate set just for that use. So perhaps this Bose headset will last longer as I will not be abusing them or sweating on them as much. So far I am satisfied with this purchase.

Couldn't ask for more.
||Posted .Pros: - Very comfortable. - Great sound quality. - Not as expensive as Beats, but better. - Had them for 6 months, still working great. Cons: - Practically no noise cancellation. - Need to turn volume up pretty high to hear my music (this can be considered a good thing if you are gifting this to a teen). These headphones are great. Bose makes headphones that are comfortable to wear and produce high quality sound without charging you too much for the brand. I paid $150+ for a pair of Beats which only lasted me about 5 months before the left speaker went out. They were also much less comfortable to wear. For about $100, I got twice as much satisfaction from these headphones. Also, they hook in your ear so you don't have to jam them in their so that they won't fall out. This makes them great for jogging. Pretty much my only complaint is that the noise around me isn't really cancelled out. I can hear people talking and cars going by. This can easily be overlooked by me, though. I'm still very happy with this product.

Great sound and separation
||Posted .Never was a Bose fan. Always felt they were overrated. Tried several brands of ear buds, all sounded about the same. Was nervous about paying for these and not liking them like some of the past ones. I was assured that if I did not like them I could bring them back. No need. There is a big difference in these and all of the other ear buds. The sound quality exceeded my expectations.

Q: QuestionHow is the bass?I'm debating on purchasing some ear-bud headphones that have quality clear sounds along with decent bass. Are these comparable to drebeats or other products that noise-cancel and provide that low bass?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Bose in-ear headphones reproduce music with more range and realism than most typical earbuds. A modified port design, in concert with our proprietary TriPort acoustic headphone structure results in a richer audio performance. You'll hear natural-sounding lows, musical clarity—even at louder volumes—and an overall presence you'd expect from much larger headphones. We encourage you to try them for yourself and judge with your own ears. Thank you for the question!

Q: QuestionAre they good for running?I have a hard time getting earbuds to stay in because they are too big (even the smaller silicone parts). With the StayHear technology, will they stay secure during runs?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Most likely they will stay in, I first used the medium buds with the bose and they fit so tight it was hard to get them in and out, but they were super secure. I tried the small size and was surprised by how comfortable they were--I wear them for 8hrs straight. The secure fit was nearly the same with the two different sizes. You have to twist these when you put them in, so up and down; and side to side bouncing does not loosen them. These are the first headphones I have used while running and doing other active dynamic motion things that don't loosen up over time and don't need to be adjusted.

Q: QuestionCan I run in the rain with the IE2I'm not talking about a monsoon, but I do enjoy running in the rain, and if I choose to go on a five mile run in the rain, I would like to know if these will hold up. Thanks.
Asked by coffenbacher.
- A:Answer Bose® IE2 audio headphones are not specifically designed to be waterproof or used in highly wet conditions. If water enters into the headphones, there may be damage to the internal components. However, surface exposure to rain or snow should not result in any damage to the headphones.
