Q: Will this match in tonality or be close to 804 matrix speakers?
A: It will be the closest that you will be able to find. The sound will be a bit clearer than what we built back when 804 Matrix were in production.
Q: What sets this apart from 600 anniversary center channel? The specs seem almost identical.
A: The crossover network components have been upgraded for greater clarity.
A: You can pair the HTM72 S2 with 600 Series, although it will best match with 600 Series models that used our silver, Continuum midrange drivers.
Q: Will these pair well with 702 S2's? Is there a better matching center speaker?
A: Hello Dejathoris, The HTM72 S2 (this center speaker) is the matching center channel for the 700 S2 series speakers such as the 702 S2. The only other center channel matched to this series is the HTM71 S2 which is a larger center channel speaker that matches very well with the 700 tower speakers within that series. Typically, the larger the center channel, the more defined and clear the dialogue and center channel of mixes become. This one in particular is still an excellent center channel speaker and would go great with the 702 S2, that said, I would likely recommend the HTM71 S2 if you can find one to match better with the 702 S2 tower speakers.
A: Hello, The HTM72 is a 700 Series center channel and will partner very nicely with the 705 S2 speakers. For a room measuring 15 x 15 it will work well. For best results with any center channel, it is recommended to place it on it's support, rather than in it. The less walls around a speaker, the better.
Q: Speech sounds muffled with low bass tone. Is there anyway to adjust the sound of the speaker?
A: Hi Whodat, Sound like something above, beneath or behind the center channel is vibrating in the bass region and that additional noise is muffling voices. Some receivers have adjustments that you can make with equalizers or automatic room correction. Other tips include pulling the center channel forward so that it is not sitting back on a shelf. You'd want to make sure that the front of the center channel is not sitting behind the front of the shelf it is sitting on. Generally speaking, you want to get your center channel off of the floor if it happens to be sitting there, or angling it up towards the listening area if you have to locate it lower. Hope those tips help!
