I could go on and on about how amazing these speakers sound but my words are just that. You really need to find out for yourself how amazing they are. I went with the white because I wanted a different look and my girlfriend wanted me to get the black ones, but even after that she loves the speakers as well. DO NOT go cheap on your HT components as you will not get the full range of what these speakers can do. I went with a Marantz 6010 at first and moved up to the 7010 and the difference was very noticeable. I planned to eventually go with a separate Amp and pre amp but at this point the 7010 is doing everything I want and then some. Many people will tell you that you have to get a center channel with these. I also own the cms2 Center, but I really did it more for the look of my home theater setup than lack of audible dialogue issues. The center was an improvement and I would not take back the purchase but if you set these up correctly, all you really need is a great receiver and good sub. I am pairing mine with a Martin Logan dynamo 500 and it is more than adequate, I actually have it turned down pretty low. The only con for these speakers is that I wish I would have purchased them sooner. The sales people at Best Buy were Awesome(capital was intended), and they got me everything I needed without me asking for it. I had don a ton of research about my setup and knew that I was going to be spending close to $9k on my audio, they helped me save some money in ways I was not expecting and was a great experience.

I am heavy on music than movies. Having owned a Polk for over a decade, wanted a significant upgrade. After hours of auditioning an number of speakers and reading numerous reviews was unable to select between Martin Logan and B&Ws. I liked the style and sound of both. During a visit to BestBuy, spotted a open-box CM 10 S2 on a good deal and so thought of giving it a try. I loved them so much I returned them and ordered brand new. The speakers are very sensitive and the acoustics of the room affects the quality of sound a lot. These speakers need a big room and a powerful amplifier. I was blown away in a showroom paired with Peachtree audio nova220se. Tried it at home and didnt work for me. My room is small and truly these speakers are a overkill. Registered the product online reported the issue and asked for suggestions and B&W quicky responded saying either I would have to fix the acoustics of the room or get a amplifier with room correction. They also recommended Bi-amping the speakers. Paired with Marantz SR5010 and after bi-amping and running Audyssay its sonic heaven. I do run it at almost full volume and is just enough for my 15 X 18 room. You would need a bigger amp for larger rooms.

I NEVER post reviews of anything I ever buy. This was one of the best purchases I have ever made in my life. The sound quality out of these speakers is simply out of this world, its unparalleled. You literally hear every note, every instrument, every crack of a voice, every pin drop hitting the floor. These speakers are utterly exquisite. They are 2000 dollars a pop for a reason. You will never need to buy a speaker ever again. Your hunt for the perfect speaker is over, purchase this speaker and do it now. I bi-amped my speaker to get even better sound quality. I paired these speakers with a Marantz SR7010 integrated receiver and am so so so impressed. I find myself listening to all my favorite music over again just to hear tones i've never heard! These speakers just look like the real deal as well. I keep the grill off for a nice glossy look with the beautiful yellow midrange driver on the top gleaming. Way to go B and W on a truly phenomenal product. I would pay even more for these speakers knowing how good they sound.

Even If You Can't "Afford" Them

These are the speakers to get. Bowers and Wilkins only changes their product like every 8 years and since the CM series came out if 2014, there's still 6 years left these speakers will be in stock at the same $1999 price and if purchased, will be with you for an extra 10 years after that. They will comfort you throughout every movie, song, video game, or sports game played through them as your friends and family will know you as "that guy" with "those" speakers. Keep in mind they output 300W so complimenting them with the right preamp/amp or receiver(bi-amped) is something I'd talk to your Magnolia Home Theater Consultant about. But he's not trying to upsell you on these, these are the real deal. Below are links to movies and artists who have recorded with Bowers and Wilkins JUST at Abbey Road Studios. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_film_and_video_game_scores_recorded_at_Abbey_Road_Studios https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_artists_who_have_recorded_at_Abbey_Road_Studios

Let me start by saying that I have a pretty nice home theater setup with a 7.1 speaker setup from Definitive. Started having issues with one of the mains and realized I would have to replace them both. I knew I wanted something better and 'auditioned' may different makes and models. None had the sonic purity of the CM-10s. I have heard more and new subtle vocal notes, sounds and instruments in music tracks that I have listened to for decades. I hear every intake of breathe and slide of a finger along a guitar string. It is just magical. My wife who normally doesn't care much about quality (music is music) was so taken with how much better everything sounded, that she actually said buying these was a GOOD IDEA. Once I got them set up and balanced, we listened to them for five hours straight. That has never happened with any home theater related purchase! Do not hesitate to buy these. They are flat out AWESOME!

I spent some time listening to all the speakers below and up to the price range of the B&W CM10 S2. I had originally been considering Martin Logan's Motion 60XT but was impressed with the detail of sound that B&W's CM S2 line had over everything else in the sub-$2,000 price range, including Martin Logan. Above the impressive sound, the quality and beauty of the cabinetry/construction is second to none. If you budget affords this level of cost , then I highly recommend you give the B&W CM line a consideration. I orginally compared and was going with the CM8 or 9 S2, but the CM10's separate tweeter design was a significant upgrade borrowing from their reference Diamond series. I would go so far as to say that you will not be disappinted. I also recommend pairing them with a CM Centre S2 center channel speaker to go with these if you plan on using them for home theater.

These are fantastic speakers. I mostly use them for playing my huge vinyl collection and it is amazing how much of the music I have been missing with my older setup. I used to have a 20 year old set of Boston Acustics with a Harmon Kardon receiver. They sounded great with the Dual turntable, everyone that heard it couldn't believe how good it sounded, especially for equipment that was 20 years old. Well the Dual finally broke and I replaced it with a Denon as I really wanted an automatic table. I updated the cartridge to an Ortofon red and was very happy. Two months later the receiver lost a channel and I replaced it with the Marantz SR 7011. I then realized the speakers were not keeping up and once I heard these, it was done. I cannot believe how much more sound and instruments have come alive on the same old vinyl records I have, some from the 80's. Listen to these, they will blow you away.

I listened to several speaker brand demos here at Magnolia Design Center and at other high end audio stores before deciding on the B&W CM10 S2's. The 1" free-mounted decoupled double dome aluminum tweeter easily caught my listening pleasure almost immediately because of its crystal clear clarity sound reproduction. The tweeter location on top and separate rather than within the speaker cabinet made an immense difference in clarity due to its wider sound dispersion capability. In addition, the 6-1/2" midrange driver sounded absolutely precise and articulate as if you were present in a live sound recording performance. Finally, the triple woofer configuration really brought out the earth shaking lows for precise bass reproduction in music and movies. You cannot go wrong with the B&W CM10 S2 series tower speakers at this price point and I highly recommend them without reservation.
