B&W CM8 S2
You know how you listen to speakers in the store and hope that when you get home you get the same quality. Not taking into account that you are in a sound proof room with the right amp etc... The B&W CM8 S2's have more than exceeded that expectation. I purchased them to replace my rear channel speakers and they have turned my family room into a concert hall. Simply put they are acoustic masterpieces, thank you B&W for enhancing my home theater experience. I now have my eyes on the B&W CM10 S2 to replace the two front channel speakers.
Overall the Bowers & Wilkins CM series is second to none in the sub-$2000 price range. For me, I listened to B&W, Martin Logan, Polk and others at Best Buy. Each CM model sounded better with notably more detail than the competition. The cabinet/construction is also outstanding. The design is beautiful, especially with the screens removed. The only real competition might be other CM models - the CM9 S2 and CM10 S2. If your budget can afford it, listen to all three models, The amount of bass and clarity increase as you go up the range. Overall though, most setups do not need more than the CM8.
