These speakers pick up much more than other speakers I have owned, including other lower-end Bowers & Wilkins sets. The price seemed a little steep initially, but after hearing the quality and all the tones they can recreate...I can't boast enough about these speakers. They were genuinely worth every penny. Also LOVE the magnetic cover. It really adds to the clean and sleek design of the speaker. Note: if you like a lot of bass, I recommend getting the sub along with these. I live in an apartment and the bass is decently loud enough (I usually use the included dampeners), but could definitely be more dramatic. I will most definitely be purchasing the sub in the near future.

Does an excellent job of recreating sound without distortions. I bi-amped them as my primary front speakers and they are truly exceptional. The receiver is an 11 channel 145 watt AV receiver and these speakers were designed to be bi-amped -- uses a separate amplifier for mid range/tweeters and a second amp for base. Sound is superlative. These are perfect for rooms up to about 900 sq feet with plenty of depth. Recovery of the base is remarkable -- and the tweeters are exactly what I wanted. They are a bit expensive for me and I was very concerned about spending that much -- they were worth it. They faithfully reproduce the original recordings and with Auro 3D they add a sound to match the 4K movie experience.

Fell for these speakers based on Hype, good reviews & their great looks. Saw them on clearance, Took them home & I was able to directly compare them side by side to a couple of other brands that cost less, but that also have great reviews. I couldn’t be sure in the store, so decided to buy them, knowing I would have to return the loosers. I had a preconceived notion that the winners were going to be the B & W’s, so kept listening & switching the 3 brands back & forth. At the end, I was shocked & disappointed to learn that these actually had my least favorite sound, so offered the worst value. I think they are overpriced, based on sound quality alone.

I purchased a pair of Bowers & Wilkins M-1 Speakers to be used as rear speakers with my home entertainment system that includes a pair of Bowers & Wilkins CM 9 front Speakers a Bowers & Wilkins CM Centre S2 Center-Channel Speaker and the Bowers & Wilkins ASW10 CMS2 10” 500W Active Subwoofer that is all powered by a Pioneer SC-95 Elite Receiver and the sound that Bowers & Wilkins and Pioneer Elite equipment produces is worth the investment. You cannot go wrong dealing with the Magnolia department at Best Buy and the staff at the store at Mexico and Colorado Blvd. in Denver CO. is outstanding.

I cannot knock the CM9 S2 (or the CM8 S2). They produce wonderful detail that was noticeably better than other comparably priced brands and models. The cabinet/construction is also outstanding, scond to none in this price range. The only thing negative is that the next model up, the CM10 S2, offer even more with additional base and a separate tweeter for even more clarity - with a cost that is not too much more. The CM8 is notably less, but if you budget is already considering the CM9, then you should just go all the way with the CM10.

The CM9 speakers I purchased sound amazing! I originally planned on getting the 683s, but after comparing the two in store I decided to upgrade to the CM9s. Boy what a difference. The clarity at the high frequency level is what sold me on these. They just deliver a fuller sound overall. I plan on having these for a long time so to me the upgrade was worth it. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone looking for a high end sound.

I was lucky to grab a pair of open box CM9(Not the S2). They sound excellent. I had an issue with one of the Midrange Speaker. Actually, It was after the return policy date and I didn't have geeksquad protection but best buy got them fixed. The speakers sound really crisp and deep bass. I am 90/20 Music/movie listener so have them in my large Family room. These are power hungry speakers and would sound much better with a power amp. I currently have a high-end receiver but still I think the power is not enough.

CM9's kick butt!! Truth be told I have the first generation of the CM9's, but close enough. For music test, tried all genres, from classical, jazz, classic rock, r&b... the pair of CM9s filled the room. For movie, have a 6.1 setup, including a B&W center. Fun movie to test, House of Flying Daggers, 'bean' scene. If your room doesn't rumble, something is not setup right. *note, I'm running a vsx-53 from Pioneer (entry level $1100), and a Panamax 5300 ($550) which are two devices I recommend which really picked up the sound amazingly too.
