Not well designed - has issues
Posted .Poorly designed user experience: The display is upside down! The designer of the device apparently thinks that 12V cig lighter port would be to the left of the driver. But unless you are in the UK or Hong Kong, 12V ports are to the right of the driver. So when the device is plugged in, you have to read the display upside down. See attached picture. Poor quality output. The levels coming from the device are considerably less than say, the nearby radio stations on the dial would be. So if you change away from the FM transmitter to a regular station, be prepare to be blasted out of your seat. Low charging output. The trend of including two USB ports on 12V chargers even though the combined amperage is only 2A is also just stupid. An iPhone needs 2Amps to charge. So what is the purpose of the second port if it can't supply the juice? Oh, and one other thing, the display LED started failing about 6 months after I got the unit. It doesn't display the first digit of any 3 digit radio station frequency. Of course, I know that the first digit will either be 1 or nothing, but still, I assume that the rest of the LED indicators will fail soon. All in all, these is just a cheap, poorly made Chinese product. P.S. If you think the station I've got the device tuned to is 85.0, you would be wrong. It's set to 105.8.

Posted .Thank you for your review.
You can turn the FM Transmitter around, allowing you to have the display facing up. For best sound, we recommend turning the volume up on your device and then matching the sound on your radio, this will help when you switch over to normal radio. If you charge one device, it will charge your smartphone. Otherwise, you can charge two devices, it will just be at a slower pace. We offer a great warranty on our products. Please feel free to contact tech@bracketron.com, one of our representatives would be happy to help you with a replacement.

Practically perfect for my needs
||Posted .I needed a different option to listen to music from my phone in my old car apart from a hard wired connection through those old cassette tape adapters or the strange hybrid of a blutooth cassette adapter that needed to be charged ever other day to use...so I took a chance on this and apart from the occasional fuzzy signal due to tunnels and airports, it's exactly what I needed. It has a mic built in which I've tried a few times but have been told it can sound a little muffled. And if I wanted to hook up my old iPod or mp3 player (for whatever reason) which don't have a blutooth adapter built in, the device has an option to hardwire it in with a 3.5mm cable included. All in all, no regrets on this purchase.

Great Device For Music But...
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed.Excellent option for those who don't have bluetooth built into the car. It is a great device for that reason however a few drawbacks. If plugged in, stations around it will become static-y. If you are using it for calls, its not the best from what I gather if not in a great range. I would be on the phone and get the other person would have a hard time hearing me saying it sounds like wind or static on my end. Overall a good pic but if for calls, better off investing in a bluetooth system for the car.

Works well and has an on off switch!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. My old fm transmitter finally started going out after a few years of use. What killed the old one was having to unplug it and plug it back in as my car doesn’t power down the cigarette lighter plug. The Bracketron is one of the few that has an on off button and it’s amazing to not have to unplug all the time. It’s only downfall is the sound quality isn’t as good as some of the other ones and the buttons aren’t as easy to use.

Helpful and Handy
||Posted .This transmitter has good sound quality. My husband and I fumbled a bit initially getting it set up, but was smooth sailing from there. The pivoting function reduces the number of plug ins and pull outs of the transmitter from the adapter. Design looks sleek as well. Some frequencies were hard to maintain even though no local broadcast was located on that channel, some station tuning to get the music stable may be needed. Overall 4 ☆☆☆☆

Easily connects and transmits through your car
||Posted .Bought it open-boxed ($10 cheaper). No problems. Let’s me play my music from my phone like intended but the sound isn’t as powerful/loud as my actual car stereo plays music even with my phone volume and car volume at max. Probably loud enough for most people though. I just like to listen to my music really loud sometimes, especially on noisy highways. But still happy with it for now until I upgrade my stereo.

Q: QuestionHow do you change what frequency you use. The current station mine is set at has interference from the station using that wavelength. When you operate the +/- toggle it just cycles through U 0-30 but goes back to the programed station 87.7
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer You can adjust the station by holding down the red phone button for a view second sand then adjust the station with +/- buttons

Q: QuestionI have a device for listening to music but I will use the aux for that, and I have an iPhone for phone calls. If I am listening to music and receive a phone call what happens?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer You push the green button and it answers your call, music stops playing while you talk, then starts again when you hang up. Audio comes through car speakers, microphone built into product, so it's hands free, just push red button to hang up. Green button is on the top of device, on the right, red button I is right next to it, on the top left, so you don't even have to look down and take your eyes off the road at all. Just (call answer -right,) (end call- left.)

Q: QuestionDo I need to have Bluetooth in my vehicle for this to work?
Asked by James18.
- A:Answer No, you don't have to have Bluetooth in your car. I don't. I have an older car a 2003, and it works fine. A little static but again I have a 2003! You can charge two things at the same time as well. You just need the usb cables (only need cables for charging) you can also answer cell phone, audio comes through car speakers, microphone built in. music stops while you talk....starts again when you hang up.

Q: QuestionWill this pick up my phone calls even if I'm listening to music on my CD player instead of the radio?
Asked by Stella.
- A:Answer Hi Stella, this is Kaleb with Bracketron. If your phone is connected to the Roadtripper FM Transmitter, and your transmitter is properly set up with your radio station, your phone calls will be heard through the radio. However, if you are listening to the CD player, you will need to be sure to change to FM radio in order to hear the audio from the phone call. Essentially, a phone call will not interrupt your CD player from playing. You will have to manually change to FM Radio in order to hear it. Thank you for your question!
