Braun - PureMix 5-Speed Blender - Premium black/stainless steel

I highly recommend the Braun PureMix Jug Blender. It appeared to be a great blender by viewing the photos and reading the words on the box – but honestly, this blender has been exceeding my expectations. I had been using a standard household blender which worked fine for some things and not so fine for others. And, I just never put ice into my old blender because such a task has always been too tall an order for any blender I have ever owned. Assembly of the Braun PureMix Jug Blender is extremely easy – disassembly and washing are equally simple. And, upon having an “oops” moment by dropping the pitcher on the floor, I discovered that this blender is also quite durable! The Braun PureMix Jug Blender performs exceptionally-well in all situations – regardless of what has been put into the pitcher. I am most-impressed with how well it takes ice cubes and blends them down into crushed ice. The crushed ice comes out smooth – just like snow cone or frozen margarita ice – and, the Braun PureMix Jug Blender is powerful enough to get the task done in a matter of seconds. I personally enjoy making a lot of ice cream/fruit/nut based drinks. My concoctions have all come out great regardless of what I put into the pitcher and regardless if I was seeking to make a drink that had consistency of juice, milk shake, smoothie, or frozen margarita. Basically, if you can imagine it the Braun PureMix Jug Blender can make it. I have included photos showing: (a) an orange juice/vanilla ice cream based drink – one made to be like a shake/smoothie, one made to be like a frozen-ice shake/smoothie, and (b) a kiwi/banana/almond/vanilla ice cream based drink, made to be like a shake/smoothie.

This product has so many options and is the only blender you need. This blender has many options. My favorite feature of this product is the crushed Ice feature since I don't have an ice maker I have to use a hand ice cube tray and my ice is always bulky and chunky I love that i am able to pour my big chunks into the blender and have a full glass of crushed ice. Another feature that I love is the pureed feature. I have a child that is one years old and my old blender would have to run forever before it would finally puree and this option so that I can puree my own foods for for my daughter. The speed and sharpness of the blades are amazing making smoother and faster than I have ever seen in a blender. We also made smoothies with this blender and it was a great the fruit and veggies pureed smoothies and it didn't take any time at all. Another cool feature of the blender is that top of the lid comes out and has a handy measuring cup on top. easy to help measure liquids and to top it off there is a little spout hole on top that you can pour liquids into without taking the lid off and without stopping the blades.The blender has a power on and off button with light up display. Easy to take apart and easy to clean. The blender is easy to use and dishwasher safe. The only thing that I dislike about this blender is that it doesn't have a flip top lid for easy pouring like my old blender. Unfortunately you have to remover the whole lid in order to pour any smoothie etc. but the benefits are way better than my previous one. This blender has been a great addition to my families morning smoothies. I would definitely recommend this addition for many of your kitchen needs. I would recommend this to my friends and family.

I have had the Braun blender for about a month and have used it in a few different ways. Braun products seem to be the middle of the road as far as quality is concerned. So I expected a good product. When I first received it and placed it on my counter it seemed to be taller than most blenders I have seen. Granted I have not used a blender in about 15 years but from what I can remember they did not come close to my hanging cabinets like this one does. The top of the blender is a solid rubber top and to remove it you have to pull on the edge of the lip. Its ok but if you have food stuck underneath you could not avoid getting your hands dirty. There is a built in measuring cup so if you need a quick measurement it is there for use. It is removable in order to add ingredients to your mix which is a pretty decent size oblong opening. Better than the traditional round opening, makes it a less spill risk. As far as noise its pretty loud regardless on what setting you have it on. I have chopped Ice which works pretty good and easy and quick to make ice for snow cones and mixed drinks. Have to be careful not to go too long if you just want the ice chunky instead of shaved, its pretty quick and the blades are very sharp. I have also made Hummus and smoothies and it works really well. Often i just cant get that one strawberry mixed in no matter how long I leave it on for. It also depends on how much you have in there. Works best when its about half or less full. My complaint about this is the ease of use. You have to turn on the power button, then pick your strength of mixing. It will stay on. If you want to pulse then power, pulse then pick the number of strength. It didn't seem to work all the time. The settings themselves didn't have much difference in the strength as well. Its a balance of how long you leave it on and how much you have in it to work the best. With all the different types of products on the market to do the same job I wouldn't necessarily discount this one but others like the ninja and bullets etc... all have their pros and cons. Just have to pick what best suites you.

This is a review of the Braun JB7130BK blender. First of all I’ve been using a Vitamix for the last three years and I’m trying not to compare this with the Vitamix because although they are both blenders it’s like comparing a Rolls Royse to a truck both were make for different markets and reasons. The Braun held up to the cocktail party very well. It chopped ice really good and it mixed it well but for a party it doesn’t make many drinks at a time but if it’s you and hubby it’s perfect. I’m really still trying not to compare to two but you don’t have the control with the Braun like you do with the Vitamix. I haven’t tried to grind grain with this like I do the Vitamix but I don’t know if it will hold up or not so really I shouldn’t compare this feature but the grain grinding in to flour is the main reason for me buying the Vitamix in the first place. If you want a good blender that will hold up to house hold usage then this is it. This mixer does make mayonnaise very well as well as other homemade sauces. For everyday use, as this machine was intended, it deserves five stars. The manufacturer had not made any claim about this product that have proven to be false. I would buy it for the needs stated in the description and for home use. Since I’m comparing the Vitamix and the Braun, and I shouldn’t, the Braun takes up a lot less foot print on the counter. I have received a free sample product from Braun for evaluation/review. I was very excited to be chosen to review this blender! I was already in the market for a blender, and wasn't sure which one to get! Truth is, I was looking at either Blendtec or Vitamix... but the high price tag was making me hesitant. After using this blender for almost 2 weeks, here are some points i would like to make: 1) This is definitely a lot quieter than my friends blendtec, but noiser than the vitamix 5200 2) the first thing i tested was the liquify/puree function as i wanted to make a smoothie on a warm summer day:) It came out pretty smooth! even though there are still a few chunk of ice in there after blending it twice :( 3) i also blended some pineapple(with core)/orange with peel/lemon with peel/kiwi... the peel wasn't completely blended so my juice had a little bit of leather-chewy feel :( 4) the blades are quite sharp, be very careful when washing them... as i've cut myself once already. 5) since this is only a plastic blender, i didn't want to test blending hot soup with it (even though its bpa-free) 6) the blade is connected with plastic spindles on the bottom... the braun does have a pretty strong motor, but i am not sure how long this will last as the plastic will break/deteriorate in time. it would be much better if it was metal:) I've also left out the part where all parts can be washed, etc, as most blenders should have comparable features nowadays:) Also left the part out regarding aesthetics:) its looks pretty slick...:) Conclusion: I think it did an okay job in blending smoothies/juices.... i didn't dare to try making ice cream/hot soup with it. I think this blender is fairly priced, but i am not sure how long this will last in the kitchen if you were to use it everyday.

After making my first smoothie, I removed the jar from the blender only to find that the jar was leaking from the bottom. What a poor design for making a blender jug? There is another design fallacy and that is to have the measuring cup embedded in the top lid. This measuring cup does not fit into the lid in anyway and thus causes the liquid to fall out. I really do not understand if this blender was designed to be practical at all. It makes a considerable noise while operating, and the big jar size makes it difficult to be used for a small family of 2 or by individuals. Pros: It is aesthetically great looking and suits the decor of the kitchen. Washing is easy - I go by hand washing. It does a good job at crushing ice, but then - that's all. For me, it failed to serve any other purpose. To summarize the issues that I observed: Has too many removable parts, causes leak from bottom of the jar and the top of the lid. Noisy motor. Bigger sized jar. Overall, it had the potential to be a good blender given the aesthetics and powerful motor, but the poorly designed jar turned it to be practically useless.

I received a chance to test drive the JB7130 Blender from Braun. I was excited about this because I own several Braun products from the immersion blender, to an electric shaver, to an electric toothbrush that has lasted more than 12 years! I am amazed by the quality and longevity of Braun products. The JB7130 blender has a great pull circular down motion which brings the ingredients right into the blade. I was pleased to see that the jar is BPA free which is something I didn't have on the Vitamix blender I owned. The wattage on this blender allows for most standard blending functions. I prepared 2 yogurt and solid fruit shakes for my wife and she loved the result. The blender effectively removed all bits and pieces and created a perfect puree. The taste was phenomenal and the mixture created a great shake. Many blenders cannot these basic things without a hitch. The initial startup of the blender is great due to the flashing lights next to each blending function. I also love the pulse feature where you press the appropriate blending function and do short pulse blends. The blender is very easy to clean and the most beneficial part is when something spills on the buttons it is easy to wipe off without things to get trapped. Overall I am thrilled by the quality of Braun and the ease of use with this blender. This is a product that is used for basic blending functions and it does a great job!

I have owned a few blenders in my time, and this Braun blender definitely impressed me. After I took it out of the box and witnessed the weight and feel and realized how quality of a product is physically was, I was excited to try it out. I probably got too excited when I plugged it in and pressed the power button and the pretty green lights glowed from the function buttons. I felt they give the blender a sleek, high end look. I just like the buttons, okay? :) I am always making protein smoothies and need a nice powerful, efficient blender that will do the job of crushing big ice cubes in a short amount of time. I was really impressed with the power in this blender. The first time I used impressed that it actually slightly took me back like wow, this things strong. It has various functions, typical of most blenders. The only real complaint I have is it doesn't get the ice as smooth as I personally like. That could be my doing though, as I tend to make super thick shakes. It's eeally easy to clean and it sits nicely on my counter, making a great addition to my kitchen. I really enjoy this product and as long as it lasts long term, I'll stick with this brand.
