Q: Do I have to have a landline to fax
A: No, you do not need a landline to fax. I connected my cell phone and the fax went through smoothly by plugging the phone into the USB port
Q: Hey can this printer print labels with a Avery Label sheet?
A: Nope. I tried and it won't feed the sheet in more than 2 inches. Contacted Brother was told this machine won't print labels and doing this will void the warranty. This info should have been included in the product description or on the box. Would like to have known prior to purchasing.
A: It will print 200 pages with the starter cartridges that come with the printer. There is a high yield option of ink cartridges that will print 400 pages.
Q: is this printer work if I refill only the black ink ?? or it requires to refill all other colors?
A: We read previous answers that said we could print with black only if other colors ran out. And we have managed to do so, however, we are getting annoying messages about yellow ink having run out every time we try to print. I have changed the default print to grayscale, so I hope this fixes it. I found the Brother manual online, and it says that if you run it with only black, air will blow through the other colors and may damage the print head. So, please disregard the previous answer that says you can print black only. So, be aware of this before you buy. Here's what the user guide says: Print using only the black ink cartridge when the Color cartridges have run out. Basically, your Brother machine is designed to stop ALL printing operations when any of the ink cartridges are empty. This is to ensure the life of the print head and maintain premium print quality. If the unit were to continue printing, print jobs and cleaning cycles would suck air from the empty cartridge and damage the print head. However, your Brother machine exceptionally can operate in a B&W Print Only (black and white) mode when one or more color ink cartridges are empty. When a color cartridge is empty, an error message will appear on the machine's display (hereinafter called LCD) of the machine stating B&W Print Only Replace Ink or B&W 1-sided Print Only Replace Ink. Follow the steps below to print using only the black ink cartridge: STEP1 Verify that the unit has message on the LCD If the LCD displays B&W Print Only Replace Ink or B&W 1-sided Print Only Replace Ink, continue to STEP 2. If the LCD displays other error messages (for example "Cannot Detect"), refer to "FAQs & Troubleshooting" for information on the error message you are receiving. The items listed below can cause the Black & White Print Only mode to end and the color ink cartridge will need to be replaced: You can use the machine as a Black & White printer for approximately four weeks. This depends on the number of pages you print. If you unplug the machine or remove the ink cartridge. If you select the Slow Drying Paper option on the machine or in the printer driver.

A: The Brothers printer comes with ink cartridges that do not contain a full level of ink. They contain just enough ink to allow you to test your equipment. Expect to have to buy ink cartridges almost immediately.

A: Remove lower tray and paper and load envelops . but be sure to change properties to envelop and size .
