Excellent External DVD
I needed an external DVD for my Macbook Pro and looked at the available drives. After purchasing this and using it in a number of different situations, I know I made the right decision. This drive is fast, accurate, and extremely simple to operate. It comes with 2 attached usb plugs for power, but I have not needed more than 1 with my MBP. I suppose an older machine might need the power output of 2 ports, thus the inclusion of the 2 plugs with the drive. Overall I recommend the drive to anyone.

Compact Device-Nice for Laptops
I wanted a budget-friendly. compact external drive because my older machine's internal drive was kaput and my daughter's new machine did not have a DVD/CD drive. This fit the bill. I will only be an occasional user so things like speed are not that important to me. I have done no speed checks so I can't say fast or slow.
It did take a while for the indicator light to come on, so I was not sure at first whether it had even powered up with the single USB cord or if I needed to also attach the booster cord. Turns out I did not need the booster (just a little patience) when installing the drive or using it to install other software from DVD. It's nice not to have yet another power cord to deal with.

Ok for price and functionality
Haven't had it very long. Price was great and was easy to connect and use. Took me a minute to open the drive but figured it out and am happy with my purchase.
