Quality video/ is not lost plugging in this device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Works great. Turned 3-4 remotes into one. I was worried there would be some video loss. But everything is looking good on all devices plugged into the Caavo. Sound quality is also not lost either. My Polk soundbar was not compatible with the Caavo but it has some sensors that came with the Caavo that let me point at the soundbar and use. Seems the set is updating and being tweaked constantly. Which makes me feel that feedback to them would be heard. Small and seamless with my small system of gadgets.

Caavo Grânde!!!!
||Posted .This product fit my need perfectly-Four-4K inputs and one output with separate ARC hdmi output (for my surround stereo) Great remote, easy to use but I still feel the $20/year “subscription” is a bit of a reach... but I love the intuitive results!! It works Beatifully with my Tivo box for cable, AppleTV for movies and ... LG OLED to make it all Beautiful. Bravo!!!

The Marriage Savior
Posted .That’s what they should call Caavo, The Marriage Savior. It’s awesome, got it on preorder, fast shipping from Best Buy. Setup takes some time and effort but don’t let it deter you, it’s worth it. Caavo puts the Harmony hub and remote I was using up until now to shame. Just like they say, you plug in your home theater device including streamers, video game systems, cable boxes, etc. and Caavo reads and pulls information off of them. I’ve got my Apple TV, PS4, and Eco Dot synced up. In comparison to the Harmony I was using Caavo is faster, easier to setup, doesn’t require you to switch components, works every time you use it, and truly is a universal option due its ability to search across anything you have plugged into it and any app you are signed into. It’s nuts. In regards to The Marriage Savior, I knew I had a winner after I had set it up and told my wife to “Tell the Caavo remote what you want to watch.” She looked at me like I was insane, picked up the remote and said, “Watch Harry Potter” and boom, results from HBO Now, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, DirecTV, our free trial of Play Station Vue, and YouTube showed up. She was shocked. I couldn’t be happier. The logical response here was, “Now who’s insane?” But of course I want to stay married so I just smiled and thanked the Caavo gods for creating The Marriage Savior. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who owns a TV. You really can’t go wrong for the price. The time it saves is worth it.

Strong Potential, Almost There
||Posted .OK - so I really do like this box. I am currently controlling my entertainment center with a Harmony Ultimate Home remote and Harmony Hub. Unfortunately sometimes the hub will lose wi-fi connectivity (it is not all it's fault it happens not to be in the greatest location of the house) and at other times it just seems to not be responsive when pushing a remote key. However, it integrates with everything. The Caavo is wonderful that it has a wired ethernet port (listening Logitech?) so I don't have connectivity issues and its responsiveness is exceptional (the HDMI-CEC control does the trick). It was very easy to set up - I have a very simple setup which includes an LG TV, Sony AVR and a Roku Ultra. I also have a Tablo 4 tuner unit for OTA reception (I am a cord cutter) which I access through the Roku. I subscribe to Netflix, Amazon, AcornTV and Hulu. Why I docked the Caavo one star? It really comes down to much potential but it's not all the way there in integrating apps and capabilities wrt its search capabilities. For example, Caavo cannot tell me what is playing on AcornTV in its search capability. It can't access the OTA recordings I have made in Tablo in its search. I hope that as the product matures there will be additional apps supported. Finally, where the Harmony shines above the Caavo is that it is not video driven in its control capabilities. I have a Amazon Echo that I have linked with the Sony AVR via bluetooth. I can easily turn on the Sony AVR and connect it the Echo with a command from the Harmony (or through voice command with the Echo). Since the Caavo is driven solely by HDMI input I cannot see how it supports this type of operation. However, I really do love the responsiveness and the simplicity of the Caavo remote. I am hopeful that the app support in searching expands (afterall we are paying Caavo for being able to search) and that there is some thought given to non-video entertainment control. Much potential, almost there.

This device is $229
Posted .This device PAY WALLS you. From all the research and even some of the reviews I had read I was under the impression I had 45 days to try the features then if I liked them I could proceed to purchase the subscription for this device which to save others the trouble is $3.99/mo $39.99/yr & $129 lifetime which you HAVE to create an account just to see all these prices. Nowhere on the site could I find the lifetime pricing without creating an account. Also this device requires you to enter your credit card info right from the start just to use it. I then have to cancel my subscription if I DON'T want the extra features. Hey caavo If you really want to push that the service pricing is required rather than optional why don't you make it a prompt at the register day of purchase instead of me having to make an account, enter my card info just to find out pricing then cancel it all if I just to use this device as the fancy hdmi switch it is? For example Office 365 has you swipe a card day of purchase for auto-renew or you can just buy a lifetime version of the software. Then it has you create a Microsoft account. Caavo please learn from this. Have registers give customers the option for auto-renew/lifetime day of purchase then swipe a card. If I had known day of purchase the pricing for the device plans rather than getting it home finding out I can't even use the device without the hassle of punching in my card info then I probably wouldn't be here writing this review right now. It just feels too much like a bait/switch. Had I known upfront these prices I probably would have saved up, got the lifetime, and enjoyed it for what it is. But instead I'm returning it. Thanks Caavo.

Posted .We're sorry that it wasn't clear that a service plan would be required to get the most out of your Control Center. You are correct that a service plan isn't required to use your Control Center, but we give every customer a free 45 day trial to ensure they find it valuable before paying for the service plan. Information about what the service plan does and the cost is available here: https://caavo.com/products/control-center

I like it
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I do have a few gripes though. 1. Caavo account setup required credit card even though I purchased a box with lifetime membership. Almost returned because of this. 2. Remote needs a rethink design wise. Volume up/down and channel up/down should be above and below each other respectively (like most other remotes). Glossy not good. Button that brings up keypad should be short press for keypad/long press to bring up button programming menu (keypad is used way more often). Need 3 more blank programmable buttons cause TiVo UI is ridiculous. I like the flat bottom but what is with the enormous bumper thingy. 3. Cable selection during setup needs updated. 4 companies comprise 80% of cable subscribers mine is 5th on list yet I had only one choice that really isn't technically accurate (seems to work but it really should have been easier to discern the correct one). 4. I would like to see a menu option that allows me to select which apps Caavo searches. I don't need it searching Netflix or Hulu if I don't subscribe to them. 5. I would also like a menu option that allows me to select whether or not to show rent or buy items in the search results. Kids can't read and I already pay enough. 6. Need more searchable apps, preferably free ones. Apps such as Sony Crackle, IMBD, Pluto TV, and others that offer free movies rather than a subscription or service based app. 7. Eliminate "Top Results" in the search feature as it is redundant. Now you might think that with a list like this that I don't enjoy Caavo. You'd be wrong. Think of it more as a wish list. Right now it is more a 6 cylinder Mustang but we all know we want the Shelby.

Great product for tech enthusiasts
||Posted .I never write reviews but I am making an exception for this product. I admit that I have a tech addiction (do I really need an apple TV, roku and Amazon Fire on every TV I own) but this product is a must have. It really does everything that it claims to do...I could get rid of every remote that I have (goodbye all of my Harmony remotes) and just use this. The user interface and setup is one of the most elegant that I have seen and I had everything running in about 15 minutes. The reason that I didn't give it 4 stars is that I hated the fact that you couldn't finish the setup until you signed up for one of their service plans (even though the cheapest is only $1.99 a month and you can cancel in the first 45 days). I will try the service plan out for a month but will attempt to cancel if I don't think that it adds any value. BTW was a great price on the deal of the day last week, I only wish I had bought a few more at that price...hopefully it will go on sale again.

Finally something that works
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed.Having a single HDMI cable fired to our main TV over the fireplace, I can’t tell you how many hdmi splitters I have tried. Rocket fish from BB and dozens from online reviews etc... cheap, expensive, doesn’t matter. All of them had problems. Finally bit the bullet and tried the Caavo unit. While it’s Still not perfect; it does work and it’s way better than anything else I’ve tried. Recognized all components and set up in a snap. The only “complaint”is It gets bogged down with the voice activated search; it seems easier to just go to a component and search natively. Also switching direct to an application is a little slow. Ie: if you want to switch to Netflix and your Netflix if on your fire stick. It’s cleaner and faster to select fire stick first and then select Netflix instead of asking the unit to start Netflix. Especially if Netflix is also available on another source (such as your TV hub). I know that all might seem complicated but it’s really a minor inconvenience. If you are searching for an HDMI splitter solution is seriously recommend giving caavo a try!

Q: QuestionWhat does this do that the Logitech Harmony Hub and Echo can't do paired together for free?
Asked by Anon.
- A:Answer This device does similar things, but the remote seems easier to use and voice search on remote searches web, amazon, netflix for content. Also can search plex. I had been using harmony and this is simpler to use and only need the remote. They need to add live tv streaming apps( youtube tv, hulu live tv, sling, etc) beyond the cable boxes to change the tv channel with voice remote. For cable works great, but not for others. They need to find a way to hook local over the air tv. as well. So far this has passed the easy to use for our house members. . Hd home run support would be good for apps on fire stick as well.

Q: QuestionWill this unit pass thru a 3D signal from a 3D blu Ray player?
Asked by CineramaMan.
- A:Answer Control Center currently does not support 3D signals.

Q: QuestionI'm looking at this $179.99 dollar caavo and it says it includes lifetime service so does that means I don't have to pay for the service since this caavo cost more than the other one? I just want to make sure before I purchase. Thank you.
Asked by Jackie.
- A:Answer You are correct. The Control Center you are considering says that it includes a built-in lifetime service plan. That means that you will not need to pay for another one in order to enjoy all the features of our product. Keep in mind that you will be asked for a credit card during setup (since that is part of the process) however you can rest assured that the card will not be charged.

Q: QuestionIs the Caavo control center a voice commmand unit? I have Spectrum cable and internet, is this compatible with a Samsung Curve Smart TV and do I need another subscription other than cable to use the unit?
Asked by Joey59.
- A:Answer Yes, Control Center responds to voice commands using the microphone button on our remote control or via a linked Alexa device. Please check out our support website and browse our knowledgebase articles for supported commands. You should be able to change channels, search for shows, and switch devices all with your voice. Spectrum cable is a supported STB as long as it is a recent unit with HDMI output. Samsung Smart TVs are also supported and seamless with respect to power control and volume control. Beyond that, you will be able to navigate manually (via TV Mode) the TV Menus to get to the Smart TV apps. There are also no deeplinking or search results with Smart TV apps. If you have an external streaming device (like a Roku or AppleTV), then Control Center will be able to search and deeplink into the apps on those devices for an even better experience. You will need a service plan to use the advanced features of Control Center (like voice control, voice searching, etc). Without a service plan, Control Center will behave like a manual universal remote and switcher. You will also need subscriptions to your favorite streaming apps (such as netflix, prime, hulu, etc).

Q: QuestionCan this control my Yamaha surround receiver? It seems I just run all my sources to the Caavo Control via HDMI, do I run the receiver HDMI output to the Caavo as well, then onto the TV? Thanks in advance.
Asked by Royster.
- A:Answer That sounds about right. I was running all the devices and my Sony avr to the Cavo then to the TV. If you go to their website it will walk you through set up with a avr. Sounds like you are pretty into audio and this device honestly is for some one that just wants to plug straight to TV. Look into a Harmony (I know it takes longer and is fickle at times), but believe you will be.much happier. I tried the Cavo for a week and switched back. Even the family would rather put up with the quirks of the Harmony.
Answered by Dtn4
Q: QuestionCan you plug a USB drive directly into this and use it to play videos from the drive?
Asked by Dan1.
- A:Answer I'm not sure about this but I will offer other comments that you should consider. I've returned the unit. I bet it works pretty nicely if your components are detected by the system but mine were not. I needed to contact customer support for help and it is woefully inadequate. One time I tried contacting their chat line during regular hours and nobody picked up. They refuse to provide a support phone number so if one is having a problem, they prevent you from calling them by design. Responses to emails can take days. When I see this kind of support while a company is trying to win business, I dread the thought of contacting them if there is a problem once one has committed to keeping the product. This was supposed to make my life easier by having a universal control for all of my components but it did not perform as advertised. My life is too complicated to have to deal with such inadequate customer support from a company, hence, I returned it. For me, this unpleasant experience is now past history.

Q: QuestionWill this replace xxfinity box? Does it have recording functionality.
Asked by Dww.
- A:Answer No. This product has absolutely no recording capabilities. It's a HDMI switch. You can connect up to 4 HDMI devices to it and then connect the device to your TV. It's remote control unit will replace (to a certain extent) your other remote control units so you can use the same remote to navigate Xbox/Playstation, Roku, Fire TV, Nvidia Shield, Blu-Ray player etc.

Q: QuestionDoes this box come with Kodi?
Asked by Tajh.
- A:Answer No it does not. Control Center does not have apps installed on it. Rather, Control Center will manage and interact with many devices that do have apps on them (such as a Roku, Firestick, AppleTV, etc). You could connect a Kodi device to Control Center via HDMI however Control Center will not deeplink, search for contents, or interact with any of the apps on the Kodi. With Control Center, you would be able to switch over to the Kodi box and have it display on your TV however you would still need to use your Kodi remote beyond that.
