Customers highly value the EOS 7D Mark II's superior image quality, ease of use, and impressive autofocus capabilities. Many also praise its performance in low-light conditions. The lack of built-in Wi-Fi is a commonly cited drawback.

I owned this for about a month before returning. I was really torn, because the video features are really nice! Plus, there are a lot of pro-grade elements on the camera - dual card slots, clean hdmi out, weather-proofing, etc. The dual-pixel autofocus system is amazing for doing live autofocus during filming, and the video image quality is very good. AND I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt on still photo quality. I upgraded glass to Canon's L series lenses to see just what the camera was capable of. However, I had also tried those lenses on a Canon 6D full-frame camera, and that camera and lenses were amazing! I could NOT get those same results with the 7DMII. I could get good results with 7DMII, but not the amazing results that I get from 6D. Overall, I'd say this is a very good camera, especially for videographers, but if you're going to spend this much money, I'd recommend going with 6D instead.

I was replacing a stolen camera so I was very familiar with this canon and its functions. It's s great professional camera and even great for anyone upgrading for a Canon Rebel series.

We purchased our original 7D from Best Buy in 2011. It has served us well since then and still is a great camera. Purchasing the 7D Mk II was a no-brainer upgrade from our original 7D. Some of the nice upgrades include: -Built in GPS for geotagging photos and/or logging trips. -Greatly improved AF. -Now has 10 fps burst mode (the original 7D had 8 fps). -Improved video features, including a headphone jack for monitoring audio during recording -Dual card slots (one for CF and one for SD). This makes using a wifi SD card possible without an SD to CF adapter if you want cheap wifi. -New dial around the joystick that by default changes AF modes, but can be programmed to other functions if you want. -Improved ISO performance over the original 7D. The one con I would have against this camera is the lack of onboard wifi. While I understand the metal casing on the camera reduced wifi performance, the only way to add official wifi is with a pretty expensive external wifi device (upwards of $700). You can, of course, use a SD wifi card for transferring files, but it does not allow remote shooting like the official wifi adapter.
