A: Yes, however you will need to buy the hub that is placed in your garage that connects to your home wi-fi. Setup and making a connection is easy. The free app will be needed and downloaded on your smart phone. I have this system on both garage doors. I can view and run both doors from my phone from anywhere without pressing anything else. A: This is just a sensor, so you have to have the myQ kit. Assuming your garage door opener is compatible with myQ, this sensor will work on any door. You just adhere or screw it to any door.
A: No, this works as a garage door opener itself and is comparable in compatibility to the ones in your new cars. The only difference is you can acccess it via your wifi to control it. If you want built in support in the older cars you might be able to update the part with a newer version. For example, if the garage door opener is in your mirror they sometimes have upgrades.
