A: It attaches to your phone wiring and rings when your phone rings. It doesn't care what devices you have on the system as long as it can plug in to the line.
Q: Will this device work with a cordless phone?
A: This device plugs into the phone line and then it, itself, the device, makes a loud noise when there's a call. It doesn't modify your phone to make the phone louder. So if you and the cordless phone are near the device you will hear it and you can answer on the cordless. But if you and your cordless phone are in some part of the house far away from the device, it won't help you. What you do to install is run the phone line from the wall to the device and then, in the device, there is a plug to attach a corded phone or to attach the base for a cordless.
A: The thing you buy is the thing that rings. It doesn't modify your phone, it is itself the ringer. Sorry I don't know how to phrase that any better. And it has to be wired to the land line, so, near the base.
Q: Will you hear the phone call through the phone ringer?
A: No. This device is a ringer only. It will ring or beep louder than a normal phone for an incoming call. It does not access an actual call, meaning you cannot hear or speak to the caller via this device. Ringer volume, tone and ringer "pattern" are all adjustable on this device. It will make the ring really loud (95 db) on the loudest volume setting. Tone is a variable adjustment, making the ringer sound lower (more bass) or higher (more treble/sharper). This adjustment tweaks the sound for improved acuity relative to the hearing loss. Different ringer patterns also relate to the type of hearing loss, and one may be better heard than the others. It also has a flashing red light when there's an incoming call. Hope this helps!

A: This unit responds to the ring voltage on the phone line. It should work OK on a standard phone line regardless of what else in on the line.
