What is TGL? 

TGL presented by SoFi is a new, prime time team golf league backed by some of golf’s biggest superstars. The first-of-its-kind experience will allow fans to watch teams of top golfers compete inside a custom-built high-tech arena.

TGL — the basics

Playing a hole
Playing a hole in TGL requires all the same shots as on any other golf course.

Field of play
The playing area is approximately the size of a football field and includes the ScreenZone for shots into the simulator, and the GreenZone for short-game shots and putting.

The players start by hitting into a giant 64' x 53' simulator. They hit from areas with real grass, fairway, rough and sand into the screen for tee shots and approach shots.

For shots inside 50 yards, players move to the GreenZone, a 22,475-square-foot area that rotates and morphs its topography using nearly 600 actuators.

Match format
Teams play 15 holes over two sessions. Each hole is worth 1 point and the team with the fewest shots wins the point. The team with the most points after completing 15 holes wins.

League format
TGL includes two points for a win and one point for a loss in overtime. The regular season features a round-robin format followed by postseason playoffs.
