A: No license required. We use ours on our farm to communicate with each other.

A: This set will not have batteries included so you have to buy it, you have charging port from where you can charge the batteries if you use rechargeable ones

A: Ken, The Cobra Hero Series FRS radios do not have GPS capabilities.

A: FRS radios are legal to use in U.S and Canadian territorial waters and in international waters while on ships registered in the U.S. and Canada. The radio user must obey the laws of the territorial waters of the country they are in. If in international waters, then it will be by the laws of the country of which the ship is registered.

A: Dick, Battery life will vary depending on the amount of time transmitting, receiving, and the volume of the radio. The HE146 will work for 5-8 hours of typical use with the supplied batteries when fully charged.
