reasonable home computer power backup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a power backup to avoid nuisance power resets for an office setup of a computer, monitor, modem, voip telephone, and small computer speakers. As i had no method to measure actual power, i added up the claimed power ratings on each device with a resulting range of (600,870) watts. (energy = power * time) Using the CyberPower LE850G energy storage spec meant it should last for 3-4 minutes at this power level so i decided to take a chance on it given the price was good relative to some other products and had the right number of battery backup outlets for me. (note that not all the outlets are battery backups, this was the least expensive model that had enough for me.) After adding the ups to my system, it turns out that the software can report actual power use and my actual power use if about 10% of what i thought it was going to be based on adding the individual component power ratings as mentioned above. The end result is that the claimed battery backup time is about 30 to 40 minutes, which is enough for me. (note that i'm not trying to keep my system powered for hours as i'm assuming i'll always be around to take action as needed. however, the software can be set to turn off the computer when the battery is drained to a certain level, so it is reassuring that the computer will shut down gracefully even if i'm not there.) all in all, very pleased with resulting backup time suitable for my low-end home office needs without having to spend thousands of dollars for a larger ups. and, it was a good laugh to have done the math but reality meant a much better end result. your mileage (and math) may vary.

Samsung 7" tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really enjoying my new Samsung 7" tablet. It's size is perfect for a carry along. I'll use it a lot when I don't need my laptop or need just a little more than my cell phone. The screen is very sharp and there are lots of apps you can use with it. Streaming movies is a breeze and makes watching a pleasant experience. I haven't explored all it's capabilities yet but I'm looking forward to seeing the many things it can do.

Great battery backup for small network
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have this mounted on the wall in a network closet for a school. It should provide 90 minutes or more of uptime for the one switch attached and the POE injectors for the WiFi network in the building.

Impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I almost spent $60.00 more then I needed to. I was in between buying this unit or another unit that was $60.00 more. I did not want to under purchase. Confused. I decided to contact the Best Buy online support tech. I thought for sure he was going to say "go ahead and purchase the more expensive unit!" Instead, he ended up spending about twenty minutes asking what equipment I was planning to protect. After reviewing the answers, he actually recommended the less expensive unit. He even called the manufacturers to make sure it had the software to schedule automatic shutdowns, which it does. Easy to set up and use. If it stops functioning, I can always use it as a boat anchor. Built like a brick**** house. I am impressed. And no, I do not work for Best Buy.

Works just like it’s supposed to.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great price, works great. Our power “blinks” every now and then, and we have the occasional short term power outage, usually not more than a a few minutes. However, we no longer have to worry about having saved our current working files on the computer, since this keeps the tower and monitor, etc. on at all times. Hasn’t been tested for long-term, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

Excellent UPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great price, features, size & very versatile with 6 surge only and 6 UPS/Surge AC outlets. They're very close together so we use short 5-6" extension cords to fit some of the wide devices like transformers (wall warts). These are an absolute necessity for reliable operation of important electronic devices to prevent problems from voltage fluctuations, brown outs and total power loss. I like CyberPower's software. We have battery backup/uninterruptible power supplies on just about everything (computers, phones, stereo, TV, security lights, etc. ). Hopefully the battery life is good (seems ~3 years is the norm).

Great surge and backup system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a similar surge and backup system which I'd used for 9 years. Plenty of outlets, good battery backup time, and an unbeatable surge suppressor. First Class!!

CyberPower 850 Regulates Power Surges
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in a rural community with iffy infrastructure. We get big storms here from Lake Michigan and we lose our electricity frequently and because I noticed my computer acting oddly when I had my electric dryer running I was looking for a safer option. When I was searching for a back up battery for our two computers. I looked on-line and I choose the Best Buy CyberPower 850 VA Battery Back-Up System for the following reasons; 1) This was the best price I found on-line. 2) The shipping was free. 3) It has plenty of joules 3) I feel safe and comfortable with this because it regulates power fluctuations, features surge protection that quickly diverts power spikes. No more getting up at night during a thunderstorm to unplug my electronics. This is just what I needed to safeguard my computers! I recently purchased two of these units and have recommended them several times over already.

Q: QuestionI lost power and the battery backup didn't work. Everything went down. Does the internal battery need to be replaced?
Asked by clb.
- A:Answer Eventually yes the battery will need replacing. But you should get several years before that happens. If it’s a newer unit my only guess it’s overloaded and the battery cannot power what you have plugged in. Only other option is a defective battery.

Q: QuestionCan i use this to power my router so my security cameras stay on ,they are arlo and blink.
Asked by Powerout.
- A:Answer I have my Blink hub along with my Fios router and Abode security system hub on this UPS. This will keep them up BUT if your Internet goes down as well Blink will not be able to upload video. Blink does not cache. The UPS will keep my Abode security system up an running even with an Internet outage as it uses wireless phone service as a backup. I cannot speak to Arlo.

Q: QuestionHow much battery backup time is provided?
Asked by Tommy.
- A:Answer It depends on how much is plugged into the unit, I have a desktop PC and a 23 inch monitor plugged into mine and get an approximate runtime of 102 minutes, I have not tested the entire runtime but it is more than adequate for me to finish my work and properly shut down.

Q: QuestionIt keeps beeping how do turn it pff
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Beeping is a sign that the unit isn't receiving power from the wall plug, but is turned on. If you just want to remove the unit from power & not use it - turn it off with the power button (hold for 3 seconds). If it's during a power outage and you want to continue providing power to your plugged in devices without the noise - press the Mute button.
