Some quirks, but lots of fun

We received this as a Christmas present (it looked so much like a Kinect game we had to open it), and I was a little worried with the reviews. When my husband first tried it, he started with archery and we both almost gave up on it.
I'm glad we didn't. Most of the games are a lot of fun. My husband likes the moguls and snowboarding the best. I really like the figure skating and paintball. Admittedly, the learning curve on this game really stinks, and the game play sometimes seems unnatural, but it has a ton of variety and it's great when you get the hang of it. Some games require less activity and are good breaks in between ones that involve heavy movement.
The archery game is not great, though my husband has gotten the hang of it. Instead of pointing your finger at the target, you point to some arbitrary point on the wall to aim. It's similar when navigating in paintball. Very goofy.
Here are some of the quirks:
- If you rely on tutorials and intuitiveness, this may be a frustrating game to play.
- The tutorials can be difficult to navigate. I had trouble touching the Forward button just once and didn't realize at first I was skipping pages of the tutorial.
- It can be hard to hit Play/Back/etc buttons on the screen. Sometimes it seems like I have to point away from a button to touch it. It's irksome.
- The Christmas tree lights messed with the sensor, enough to start a game on their own.
- The game itself is a little choppy. There is a noticeable lag.
If I had to rate this game on programming quality, I would not have been so kind. It's the kind of game that will be in the bargain bin as soon as more games become available for the Kinect.

Frustrating, beyond belief!!

Like the last reviewer, I have never felt the need to write a review on a product but I don't believe that I have ever been as unhappy with a purchase. The motion sensor is not precise when using this game. I could not get guns to fire or arrows to launch consistently and they would sometimes fire even when I did not make the required movement, while playing paintball or archery. The Boxing offers no challenge at all, you just throw punches until you win, with little resistance. I tried the kendo sticks and the opposing avatar would never move, it just stood still until you made a strike which always hit. What is the point. In some areas of the game the hand icons that you use to track movement on other titles are non functioning, you just have to keep moving your hands until you happen on to the right area and then hope that it stays there long enough to get the desired result because it is so jumpy. I will say that I did not try all of the games but if the first 3or 4 games are this annoying, I thought why bother. Definitely not worth the money!!

Worst Kinect game so far

This is by far, the worst Kinect game I have played to date.
While the game shows your movement and shows that it is tracked perfectly, for some strange reason, these movements are not translated into the movements of your game character. The interface seems like it could work relatively well if it could get over this but it just doesn't make the cut.
In many of these games, you have no control over your character. (For instance, my character would randomly charge the net in tennis without my doing anything to prompt it. And it wouldn't register me swinging the raquet even though my stick figure clearly made the motions.)
I had a lot of hope for this game since I've played and enjoyed the Deca Sports titles on the Wii, but this is trash.
Unless you feel like getting repeatedly frustrated or hope that a patch is put out to correct the interface, I would recommend against purchasing this game. (We have two children as well. They couldn't stand it either.)

Buggy, disappointing game

I bought this specifically for the tennis game. It was very buggy and had poor capture of movements. I love Kinect for the action and movement games but this is the ONE game that I wish I never bought and will not use again. It was a waste of money. It is too bad. Fortunately for Kinect, there are other titles that perform extremely well - go buy those instead!

Horrible Game

This is by far the worst game I have ever played. To put what I'm saying in perspective this is the first time I've felt the need to inform the public through a review about a game being so bad. If you're looking for a FUN motion sensor game this is not the game for you. There are so many bugs in this game. The biggest problem is the motion sensor itself. You cannot play any game without the sensor freaking out on your screen. The entire time I was playing I was so caught up in trying to fix how I was playing that I forgot it was a game. This game is just too frustrating. Save your money.

This game is the worst game for the kinect. It will not register your players correctly. You can do the kinect tuner and it will not fix it either. The game just doesn't use the sensor very well at all. During tennis my player is always sitting on the ground. I'll be swinging at the ball and think I've got it and then notice my player is sitting on thr ground and I miss the ball. You can move backward, forward, sideways..doesn't matter the game doesn't register your players correctly so you can't even play the game as intended. I wish I had NOT purchased this game. Waste of time, energy and definately a waste of money! They should not have rushed this game just to release it and have it work lousy so they can make money

Bad Product

Don’t buy this game it’s horrible. There is a huge delay in the sensor from your movements. In the Archery game you have to turn at a 40 degree angle before you are standing straight at the target. Volleyball is impossible to play you have to hit the ball 10 seconds before it actually arrives. Boxing is horrible, one punch and the person is down, the problems just go on and on. This game is not made by Microsoft and I would never buy a game by this company again.

I have nothing to say that it's not a funny game, hard movements, hard to find the indicator on screen. Just get Kinect sports so much more fun or Kinect adventures.
The only nice game on it is Archery, the boxe is bad, tennis is the worst ever, and not saying the ones on ice, skateboard, skiing......
serious if u are thinking to buy it even after this......find someone that made the same mistake as i did (bought it) and give it a try.
