A: There is a screw hole. I used mounting brackets from Amazon. Worked perfectly. They seemed heavier than what I trusted that the screw hole could handle.
Q: can speaker be effectively laid on its side?
A: I believe so. They are somewhat compact, so I don't thing sound distribution would vary that much, regardless of placement.
Q: does it come with 2 speakers or a pair of 2 for $499 price
A: You get both left and right D7 speakers, each with a tweeter and mid-range, in a single package. I thought the $499 price was very reasonable.
