Not bad for the price

The screen looks decent and it has a massive storage capacity of 2TB which will come in handy so you don't need external devices for storage. I see one thing I do not like and it will become problematic or a nuisance right away. The track pad is horrific. It has a lot of play and feels about as cheaply made as I have ever seen on a laptop. I guess they had to get you with something at this price point but use a wireless mouse to get past this known issue. Buy the warranty because you will need it if you plan on keeping it for a few years as a piece of mind.

Great Laptop

This is my first DELL in all that time. Over a month and knock on wood, everything is running great. I was even able to load some of my old software that I had loaded on my Windows 7, but not all. This is my first laptop with a matte screen, and I really like it. No glare from my reading light or the window. Computer loads up fast and works well. I outgrew my gaming years, so I'm not concerned with that. This is also my first long term experience with Windows 10 and it did not take long to get used to it. I only gave it 4 stars for now. Who knows what can happen next month.

Excellent Laptop

Stay away from HP, I have owned about half a dozen HP laptops and all were BAD lemons, poor quality hardware and it freezes all the time and gets very very hot ! Stick with Dell

Slow and Poor Ergonomics

However, my 15.6" was 4K and I have gotten spoiled by that. The 17" was larger but, the general ergonomics were not comfortable. The Intel i7 is only a dual core and lacked the high end performance I was looking for. The 2TB was only 5400 RPM and the video was slaved to the Intel video processor with the AMD Radeon provided 3D backup. Would have worked much better with a SSD, Quad Core, and dedicated AMD Radeon (disable the intel video). Tried gaming on this with Forza and was very disappointed. Speakers are weak and the 1920x1080 resolution was lacking in brilliance and depth.

The speed is incredible with the i7! Love the layout of keyboard and having a numbers keypad and ample ports! I have had the laptop for about 5 weeks and I have no complaints! Thanks Dell!
