  • Key Specs
    • Number Of Audio Zones: 2 (Audio zones, typically designated by rooms in a home, are areas in which all speakers are dependent on the same sound source. Whether a zone encompasses one or multiple rooms, the receiver or preamp/processor is used to control all aspects of its audio and is able to select which zones receive sound.)
    • Video Pass-through: 2160 (4K) (Devices with this feature allow video signals to travel from their source to a target device without alteration. For example, a receiver with 4K pass-through would allow 4K video signal from a Blu-ray player to pass to a target TV with surround sound; without the pass-through ability, the receiver would not allow both 4K video and surround sound to be transmitted simultaneously.)
    • Bluetooth Enabled: true (The device is capable of communicating with another device via Bluetooth, provided they are within the required range of each other. A Bluetooth-enabled device must also be the same Bluetooth version or higher than the accessory it is intended to pair with.)

Q: Why is the volume so low?????? I thought Denon was quality..

A: I agree to an extent with you. But at the same time the overall picture... I like my Denon much more. I tried the latest Onkyo and though it seemed more potent in a way the clarity in my dolby atmos was so much better with the Denon. Interface for menu and Setup was so much better and even sound processing on my Denon. I usually have to volume up to around 65 to get a nice IMAX sound feel in a room that is 17x23 feet w 12ft cathedral ceilings. I use Harmon Kardon satellites speakers and an SVS PC2000 sub and I can feel everything. On the transformers movie the last night at the beginning when kids are running from robots my room and bass will hit beautiful as if they were walking in my room. Again.... I agree with you that may not be as powerful as others out there but quality wise... Denon has it right. In my situation I have plenty of volume to fill my room. Just giving my opinion to your question. You can always add an amp to it to boost power and keep the quality.

Q: Is this receiver compatible with most new turntables?

A: Well all I can say is that there is not any turntable connection like the old receivers had. I have seen turntables that say they connect wirelessly by Bluetooth. Other than that my answer is no it is not.

Q: Does this unit have amplification and discreet channels for a minimum of 4 Dolby Atmos HEIGHT channels?

A: No, this only have a dedicated left and right channel where you have the option if you will use it as a surround back channel or a front height height channel which is more suitable for a Dolby Atmos set up. Good luck then.

Q: How many watts per channel on the avr3400h

A: More than enough to power any standard 6/8ohm speaker. Almost all receivers are around 100w these days, it's the quality of signal that's important also. Power Output (8 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08% 2ch Drive) - 105w
