This is a great receiver with more than enough power for a common 7.2 home theater. It has all the features found in a most 4k receivers with the new ATMOS. The sound quality has exceeded my expectations in a mid entry receiver. It sounds great! I chose this unit because of its features and being able to read the content on the front display panel, along with the price point for my application. I'm not a big fan of the cardboard calibration stand so to get the best sound out of this AVR, I attached the Audyssey calibration microphone to a tripod. It was much easier moving the tripod around during calibration. I made sure not to move the tripod more than three feet away from each calibrated position. The closer all calibrated positions are throughout the process, the better the sound afterwards. During calibration I kept the room very quiet in order not to introduce unnecessary sound into the mix. Now I am enjoying the best sound. I am also checking out all the features of this receiver, though slowly. I really like how the low frequency sound can be contained at night time when people are sleeping. To me it is a great feature because it reduces how much sound travels through walls at night. You can't go wrong with this receiver.

I was upgrading from another Denon, with old school connections and tech. The entire process took about 90 minutes, including the calibration and online setup. Using AirPlay was a snap to get the receiver on my network, and using the on-screen menus made setup easy. It took me a bit to figure out the link with my Samsung Ultra 4k TV - getting the ARC and the correct input information was a bit of back and forth with the two units. Once the TV knew what I'd connected, everything worked perfectly!
Excellent upgrade - even my wife, who doesn't care much about this stuff, commented on the improvement of the sound (listening in Dolby HD is pretty awesome).
I'm very happy with this purchase!

This is my first new receiver in 12 years. It replaces an older Denon that still works great just doesn’t have all the new connections that I need. This receiver is simple to set up. It has step by steps instructions that you view and follow on your TV. It sounds great has plenty of power and is super easy to use.

The best receiver for my LG 65” UF8500 TV. Super easy setup. Love the AirPlay. HEOS is a great feature as well. I play Splatoon 2 on the Nintendo Switch, and the picture/sound is amazing. My fiancé and I watched Transformers: The Last Knight in 4K Dolby Vision on the Apple TV 4K (streaming) and it was incredible. I did have an issue with the Denon remote, but Denon customer service was fantastic and shipped me a new ASAP. They do have iOS app for the remote we had to use while ours was being shipped. CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS RECEIVER!

I had old Onkyo reciever which broke because of my fault. Then I started looking for new one and features important for we were output per channel, Dolby atmos, 4k HDR pass thru, Dolby vision , etc. I looked at several brands and this one was the best to meet all features and best price. The setup was very easy, HOES is great. The remote app is awesome , it has all features of physical remote. Was very pleased and sound is great with my klipsch speakers

For 1000 bucks it is a good receiver. I have a surround sound with 7 speakers. There is room for all plus plenty of HDMI connections. So far works good and sounds great.

Coming from a 10 year old Sony I decided to give Denon a try.
For most people I would imagine this receiver would more than enough. I'm used to staying in the $400 dollar range. Of course this was a lot more expensive but well worth it. Also very easy to set up. I first set it up with the calibration mic but then ended up changing the settings to my liking. Bought new Klipsch 12" Sub and Tower Speakers and this thing has no problem handling both. I think I'm hooked on Denon. Easy to register products on line also. I would definitely recommend..

Great features. Has everything you want for 2017. Still, the sounds is okay compare to my X4000 from couple of years ago. Also, the price is way to high for the quality of components. The price increase for less component quality from past years sucks.

My wife and I have had many AVR’s in the past it was time to step up and purchase from inside the Magnolia Sound Room. There were so many options and it boiled down to this Denon and it has continued to impress over the past month. Set up was surprisingly simple considering how technical equipment is. In regards to the performance of the receiver, it is everything you ever expected out of the excellent brand name Denon has nurtured over the years. This is an excellent piece of equipment and all of my friends and family who have come over are delighted by the quality and sound it pushes out to the speakers with ease.

This receiver is much better than an Onkyo we sold. Amazing for music and movies. This currently powers a klipsch system with 7 speakers and 2 subs. Armor enabled.

Powerful with all the latest capability for a 5.2.2 system. Plays Atmos and DTS. Good idea to use certified High speed (18G) HDMI cables for all your 4K stuff.

I upgraded my Denon AVR2313 to AVRX3400 because of the need for a 4K receiver and Im glad I did! The pass though video picture is fantastic and the ease of the Odyssey surround set up makes the speaker set up perfect without a hitch in any room.

I bought this almost two years ago, so if you're reading this, you will have a hard time finding one.
I bought this for its HEOS capabilities, which have been better than expected. I have one zone set to my patio and can control everything via my phone. I can chose from a number of online sources, plus anything hooked up locally, or on my phone. I have been exclusively purchasing Denon products for over 20 years. While this is the cheapest model I own, it does not disappoint.
