An overall fun, immersive Driving Game!

Overall, this is a very fun driving game that provides a very immersive VR Driving experience! There are enough options to provide many different ways to enjoy the game including a "no time limit" mode where you can just pick a car, pick a location and just drive by yourself to practice or enjoy a casual drive without the pressure of racing. The game is by far not perfect and does have one flaw that many find either annoying or to some, unacceptable and that is the somewhat "lower resolution" or "fuzzyness" which is more evident in the distant horizon graphics and even some of the close graphics. The car interiors though are beautifully rendered and in VR you really do feel like your inside some exotic sports cars. I'm running it on a PS4 Pro and other than the fuzzy horizon graphics, the framerate is spot-on and the realistic textures really help with the immersion. I'm fortunate that I am less sensitive to "VR motion sickness" but I recommend that if you are considering picking this up to try the demo first (it's included on the PSVR Demo disc that comes with the system). Overall though, this is a very fun driving game that is fully playable in VR (unlike some other games where only "part of the game" is playable in VR). Gran Turismo Sport will probably "obsolete" and "outclass" this driving game but until that game is available, this is an excellent driving game to quench your "driving" and "racing" itch until Gran Turismo Sport comes out later this year.

I am a true gamer so I will give a concise opinion. The game in VR is excellent. When you spin out it just like spinning out in a car. Your disoriented and once you get your bearings. You peeling off to get back in the race. The good: There is no better feeling of rotating your head and body to see your blind spot and you actually see your blind spot in driving. Another plus is looking into your rear-view mirror and seeing the cars position's behind you. Any person will be able to drive better because the seeing the game in this unique point of view allows the player to have better depth perception. The player will be able to really sense when to turn. The bad: Since you can see the racers behind you in rear-view an option should be available to adjust your rear-view mirror. Graphically the game can look better but I am not playing on a PS4-PRO so perhaps the game will look better if I upgrade the system. The game will feel even better with a driving wheel which means more money. Currently on sale during black Friday is the Logitech steering wheel marked half off I suggest you get it (retail is $400 and currently $200). There is thrustmaster driving wheel is available for $200 but it don't have have clutch. You don't need a clutch for this game but if you want the option. Logitech is the way to go. If you have any questions just comment on my review and I will be alerted by email and I will respond.

This is an excellent VR Driving game for the PSVR that offers an overall fun "immersive" driving experience! There are a nice selection of game modes to choose from including races, tour mode, drift challenge mode, sprint mode and a fun "cruise" mode that is excellent for just driving around the various track locations casually with no pressure of racing or time constraints. Graphics are overall fairly well done, though as some reviewers have noted, they tend to be a little on the "fuzzy" side, particularly the distant horizon graphics. The cockpits and interiors are beautifully rendered though, and overall I didn't really mind the "out of focus" horizon graphics because for me, it didn't really detract from the overall "fun factor" and driving experience. The graphics are realistically rendered and the overall sense of speed is really well done. The cars handle pretty well (though I'm sure some serious racers may complain about the physics). The important factor for me though is the "overall fun value" and this game delivers it "hands down". Until the new Gran Turismo becomes available, this is an excellent choice to add to your PSVR game library! It's just plain fun!!

VR and driving games were meant for each other

I'm one of those crazy people who tend to spend more money than necessary to play racing games in the best experience possible. For GT games, I ended up with three PS3 consoles and three of each game with the Logitech DFGT so I could play with three screens, I thought it wouldn't get any better than that. When I got the PSVR, I knew that this would be the future of playing driving games. DriveClub VR is fun but there are some issues with the balance the game is trying to do between sim and arcade. The graphics are severely reduced compared to the non VR game but eventually you see past it and the immersion of VR and the game takes over. Good starter for VR driving games but I'm going to have to take out a star for the gameplay being a bit shallow and another star for the current state of the graphics. If they ever patch the game for PS4 Pro and improve the resolution to make it as sharp as other Pro patched VR games, this would easily be a 4/5 game.

Everything in this game is out of focus. Well I take that back. The credits, title screen, leader board and menu's are IN focus. You get into the game expecting to see crisp mountains and roadways to race on. Next thing you know you're in the game and the only thing you can see is the steering wheel and everything else is out of focus. It's not my VR headset either. Other games were perfectly in focus and crisp. It just happens the makers of this game decided to make everything past the hood of the car out of focus. This is even more apparent when you're racing and you can see glare and the dust on the window is in focus.

First off if you're wondering if you should get Driveclub VR and you like racing games, then yes, get it. Now it does make some sick because of all the movement within the game which is expected with driving a car around corners constantly. There are ways around this though, focus on distant points, some use dramamine, or limited playtime. The graphics up close in the car are awesome. Things do get pixelated off in the distance, and I mean a lot. This doesn't really matter because the game immerses you. You feel like you are really racing. Driveclub VR is a fun demonstration of where VR can go. On my list of favorite VR games out at this time, this is number one.

Great Concept but Visual Quality Lacking

The game itself is pretty good. What makes it nearly unplayable for me is the extremely poor virtual quality. Everything 2-4 feet ahead of you is so blurry it makes it unpleasant and frankly tiring to play. I would still like to give credit to the developer. They have indeed done something amazing. Racing games require some muscle to start and online reviews of various racing games often show dips in frame rate on xbox one/PS4. The console is stressed enough to play these types of games without the VR. With the PSVR this game should be unplayable and yet it has been optimized to actually deliver a smooth performance. The compromise in image quality is simply too much for me, but it could be acceptable to you.

Played the demo on release of the PSVR ansd I felt queasy within a few minutes, especially when crashing on curves. But I finally tried the full version after reading that the demo was not a true representation. I found that I was oversteering with the stick and that was part of my problem. Once I went to the motion controller settings it was great fun, and I was able to play for long periods with no problems. This probably explains why so many people using steering wheels like it. Docked one star because the speedometer and other items inside the car are a little to blurry. Looking out and down the road was pretty good and it was kind of like really driving-especially in the cruise mode.
