A: I bought three packs at the same time (a few months ago) and all of them say Oct 2018, so they have some shelf life.

A: the batteries are alkaline.
Q: how mAh are there in a batterry?
A: Alkaline batteries are disposable and usually do not have a mAh rating on them. That is because there are too many variables that affect the discharge rate. That said, Alkaline batteries are rated from 1700 mAh to 3000 mAh. Rechargeable batteries are another story and the mAh rating becomes an important factor.
