Q: In order for this air fryer to heat up, does the timer have to be set? Is this a safety feature?
A: Yes, you just set the temperature, then turn the timer to the appropriate time and it's on. No need to preheat...and once done, it turns off. Great safety design and oh so convenient.

Q: What is the diameter of the basket?
A: About 5 to 7 inches. Its pretty small it fits one regular size burger patty in it.
A: I’ve never seen that. I use this all the time for 1 person and have never filled it to the maximum line.
Q: How many chicken wings can fit in this 2.1 qt fryer?
A: I would say about 8 pieces. I always check to see if they are fully cook. I flip them, its there not done.
A: I know. You have to wonder who writes the manual. I call the grill the basket and the drawer pan is the frying basket. You wash insert piece and the big basket before use and put the grill insert back in. There is no protective cover and no release button. You just use the handle to pull the whole thing in and out. Very simple.
