The Emporia EV Charging Station is a Level 2 electric vehicle charger that charges any EV up to 48 amps with hardwired installation. It comes with a 24’ cable (from charger to tip of gun) with an SAE J1772 connector so it works with all electric cars. Its IP66 enclosure is made to withstand the elements outdoors.
- UL AND ENERGY STAR CERTIFIED LEVEL 2 EV CHARGER: DEFAULT CHARGE RATE is 48A. WiFi Internet connection is required to raise or lower charge rate. Pair with an Emporia Vue Smart Home Energy Monitor to automatically charge only with excess solar power and curb charging during peak demand.

A: In the charging world we have four different types of connector. Most electric cars use two different types into the same car, depending on level of charge. This is the level two charger. Some cars use a different fast charging connector. I think only Mitsubishi and Nissan used it. (chdemao?). The fourth is the musk version. You can buy this charger in a musk version.
A: The charger is a level two. That uses the same connector that came with our 2012 iMiEV. This the connector every car uses (except the musk one).
