UL AND ENERGY STAR CERTIFIED LEVEL 2 EV CHARGER
DEFAULT CHARGE RATE is 40A. WiFi Internet connection is required to raise or lower charge rate. Pair with an Emporia Vue Smart Home Energy Monitor to automatically charge only with excess solar power and curb charging during peak demand.
UL LISTED WITH YOUR SAFETY IN MIND
Manufactured to meet the safety criteria defined by: NEC 625, SAE J1772 or J3400, UL 817, UL 991, UL 2231, UL 2251, and UL 2594. INSTALLS INDOORS OR OUTDOORS. Your charger will be safe from the elements with a rugged watertight NEMA Type 4 enclosure. Check with your state and local company to see if there are incentives and rebates in your area. PROTECTED BY A 3-YEAR WARRANTY when installed in North America per the instructions in the installation guide.
NEMA 14-50 PLUG READY
9.6kW (240V/40A) / 10kW (208V/48A) / 8.3kW (208V/40A) up to 40A NEMA Type 14-50P with 22" cable compliant with 2017 NEC Section 625.17(A)(3). Requires a dual-pole, dedicated breaker at 50A+ for a 40A charge. A professional electrician is recommended for installing a NEMA Plug.
COMPATIBLE WITH ANY EV
The charger comes with a SAE J1772 connector (adapter required for Tesla EVs) and a 24' cable with integrated cable management.
REAL-TIME ENERGY DATA
Requires a 2.4GHz Wifi connection with internet to monitor energy use and charging sessions with iPhone / Android / Web Browser app. Schedule charging with app. Easily manage the parameters to handle variable utility rate charges.

Better Than I Thought!

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was somewhat skeptical of the Emporia Level 2 Charger but ordered it anyway due to the price point. Others I saw listed with "better reviews" were going for about $100 more. However, I couldn't have been more wrong! After the electrician installed my outlet, it only took me about 10 minutes to install the charger and start my first charging at home. The instructions were crystal clear and even included a link to a video for assistance. But it wasn't really even necessary. I guess I just wanted to make sure I didn't burn the house down LOL. I have ZERO experience with electrical installations of any kind and this is my first EV car. But everything went quite smoothly! Charging is even faster than I had thought. It charged my BMW I4 from 30% to 80% in about 5-6 hours. It even has an app for your phone where you can control charging setting like off-peak times (when it's cheaper), charging limits (for better battery life), and will monitor costs and use for you. You just hook up your car to the charger and the settings will do the rest. It's really been great, and MUCH cheaper than using the Level 3 chargers that cost $20+ per charge! I feel like I'm saving quite a bit compared to a gas vehicle. Better yet, I found out I will qualify for a tax rebate of up to 30% of my cost just by installing it at home. Better for the environment, better cost savings. It's really a win-win. So if you're thinking about getting this charger, all I can say is trust me, it's worth it! One thing to note: the cord from the charger to the wall outlet is only about 2 feet long so make SURE you have the electrician install the outlet very near where you are going to mount the charger!

Great product

So far I am very pleased. It is very simple. The charger hooked to wifi very easily and the app is very informative and easy to use. I had a professional electrician install the wiring and the charger for me. I was using a level one charger prior to this one and I can say this charges roughly 6x faster if not a little more. I definitely recommend.

The app allows me to control the rate of charge and track consumption on a bar graph. This makes tracking impact to electic bill more predictable. The performance has been rock solid for me. I have no complaints about this unit.
